Fighter Profile Database

We here at MMAForum are always trying our best to bring you, the members, the best in user experience and convenience.

As such, our staff has been working diligetnly to bring you a new, easier to use, updated, and more convenient Fighter Profile Database.

What we have done is compressed the Fighter Profile pages into easier to find Divisions, and in doing so, we have reformed the front page of the site. You will no longer have to scroll past the LONG and outdated subforums. This way, profiles will be more organized, and the bottom half of the forum will be seen again!

You will now find every fighter listed in their respective weight divisions (updated daily). You will also find threads regarding fighters to be in their respective forums as well.

I would like to take this time to thank our staff, for their exceptional work.

By using our search function, you will be able to easily find any fighter listed.

Editorial writers wanted!

Do you have what it takes to show off your writing skills. Well if you do MMAforum's editorial staff is looking for you.

1. Editorials should have three parts: First is the introduction, where you state what your contention is. This should usually be one paragraph in length, and never any longer than two paragraphs. The next section is the body, or the evidence you present to back up the claims that you’ve made in your introduction. Lastly is the conclusion—another one or two paragraph matter. Here you summarize your contention and evidence, and lay out any warnings you especially want the reader to remember (if such exists).

2. Do not be afraid to be controversial and when you do, write with confidence! No one has all the answers, but you should write as though you do.

3. Let your personality come out: If you’re known for sarcasm, be sarcastic. If you’re known for being funny, find a way to inject humor into your writing.

4. Use emotion. Tell how *you* feel, or felt. If you’re angry—express it! If you’re happy—let it show. Talk about the emotion of your subject and talk about the emotion of others.

5. Make every sentence count, and use as few words as possible to make your point. Clear, short sentences are best. Check your grammer and spelling twice.

Editorials to be posted on Blogs, once week! We require only one blog a week. It will then be featured in all of the forums in the network.

We are looking primarily for MMA only, however, if you want, you can write about any sport.

IMPORTANT: Intelitxt tags

I wanted to post a quick announcement discussing the Intellitxt advertising tags some of you may be seeing. It is a new advertisement program we are doing a trial on to gauge its effectiveness and see if it is a long term solution that we might be able to adopt.

I realize that it might be an inconvenience to some of our members so we have added the ability for your to disable them. In order to do so, simply click on your User CP (in the navbar) and click on "Edit Profile" -- Scroll down and look for the "Additional Information" area. You will see an area allowing you to "Disable Intellitxt Ads", simply check "yes" in the "Disable Intellitxt Ads" option and they will be turned off permanently.

We value our members and want to give you the option to continue to enjoy this site as you always have well into the future. Thanks for being a valued member and participating on our site!

***READ FIRST*** POSTING RULES & GUIDELINES

General Guidelines:

MMA Forum respectfully expect that all members conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a variety of races, nationalities, creeds, religions and sexes with the focus on total respect of each member of our community.

MMA Forum also sets a standard that our community makes a valiant effort to contribute their knowledge in varying degrees, as long as what is being written onto the boards, have meaning and respectability without the fear of belittlement from others. MMA Forum is just that a message board. Read if you like, but we would love to have you post.

Site Guidelines:

The following categories of conduct online are unacceptable at MMA Forum and are a clear violation of our Board Guidelines that may result in warning, suspension or loss of membership (i.e. Banning).

-----

Disruption:

Posts that are meant to create confusion or sway the topic away from the intended Thread or conversation or news pertaining to a particular subject. Disruption can include but not limited to post-padding, off-topic posting, or posting of content that intended to demean other posters rather than discuss appropriate topics.

-----

Harassment:

Harassment is defined when a member attacks, disrespects and degrades another member anywhere on the board at any time. Personal attacks are never welcome and are never tolerated. The general nature of sports, fans will defend their favorite fighter, but never will terms as "stupid, homer, idiot, moron" and the like ever be tolerated. Continual harassment and or "baiting" of a member of the community, they’re favorite fighter and or members of the staff will also result in the above mentioned actions. Editing over a mod is also something that is not welcomed and swift action will be taken of said member.

-----

Obscenities or Sexual Innuendos:

MMA Forum features a community with a world wide ranging of members and content readers. We stress that pornographic images, obscenities, sexual language and vulgarities are NOT used. Attempts to mask such language using alternate spellings, etc., will be treated as correctly spelled obscenities are are also subject to being removed. We want our members to have fun, but at the same time we must keep aware that everything we may say with someone we know, could offend a member that we don’t. Please use your best judgment in these cases.

-----

Spam:

Spam is classified in a number of ways. It can be:

• Useless posts
• Reviving a dead topic (something older than a month and on page 3, for instance)
• A short, uneducated reply
• A reply agreeing with someone, yet posting no actual opinion
• A post that breaks a rule

Those are some common spam posts. Basically, do not break a rule and do not post ignorant messages and make your posts HAVE a point. Don't start a new thread asking a question you could easily find by yourself. Don't start new threads asking others their opinion when you don't answer it yourself. Don't make new threads posting a news story (this especially goes for the UFC and Pride forums) and then having no opinion on it -- why post something you don't actually care about? You should also give a source NAME, but not necessarily a link.

NOTE: Any of the above type of posts may result in warning points.

-----

Double Posting:

A double post is what it means: a user has posted twice in a row. To avoid this, use the edit button. Remember that -- double posting is a form of spamming (see Spamming above).

NOTE: Double posting will likely result in warning points.

-----

Flaming:

A "flame" is when you insult someone. Here at MMA Forum we try to have a community where you can freely express your views without too much moderation, but at the same time we do not want your views if it can offend another member. Thus, if you flame someone anywhere on the forum, you are risking being banned. Now, we do not read EVERY single post on the forum, but we try.

-----

Insulting Staff Members:

Insulting a staff member may result in an automatic ban. Some staff members do not care if you insult him or her, but others do, so don't try to insult a staff member because you don't know what the outcome will be. It's highly discouraged to insult anyone, both members and staff. Remember this.

NOTE: Insulting a staff member will likely result in warning points for the first offense, and if in continues, expect to be banned.

-----

User Options

Signature Limits:

Most people have signatures with an image or two. This is common, so there must be some rules regarding signature size:

• Image width should not be more than 420 pixels
• Image height should not be more than 220 pixels
• You may have two or more signature images if the height of both does not exceed 220 pixels in height
• You cannot have more than 25 lines of text in your sig if you choose to use no images

NOTE: Lines of text is based on the screen resolution of 1024 x 768, which is currently the standard size for the average user.

Here is a sample of how big your images can be combined, and how many lines of text you can have:

If your signature is within those guidelines, you should be okay.

NOTE: Nudity is not allowed in signature images whatsoever!

Signature Advertisements:

Recently MMA Forum has undergone some changes. As a result, members are trying to capitalize by advertising sites as having nudity or hardcore pornographic content. This is not acceptable and all signatures relating to such cheap advertisements will be removed. If complaints, arguments, or disrespect of this rule is presented, your site and your account could be banned from MMA Forum.

Signature Text:

Signatures and their content is shown after each of your posts, and therefore the text must not be offensive. Like posting, it cannot involve racism, sexism, or insults towards someone's sexuality. The amount of text you are allowed to have in a signature is by character limit. 250 characters (including spaces), is the set limit.

-----

Avatars:

Registered users may have avatars up to 96 x 96 (width times height, in pixels), and 75.2 KB. Paid forum members may have sizes of 144 x 168 (width times height, in pixels), and 108.4 KB. Avatars with nudity or offending content (racism, offensive towards religion, criminal behavior, etc.) will be removed. Be considerate of others.

Allowed Images:

There should be no nudity whatsoever on MMA Forum. Naturally, this includes any sexual content. All images from rotten.com or any website that contains any such images shall not be posted. Anyone posting these images are liable to be banned. Also, sites that are made to contain disgusting images, such as "Tubgirl," are forbidden. Anyone who posts ANY disturbing images such as the aforementioned will be banned.

-----

Illegal Activities:

The posting of specific information relating to how and where to obtain illegal activities is a violation of the Board Guidelines. This most directly relates to issues such as illegal file sharing and illicit drug use. MMA Forum does not, however, discouraged discussion of the moral and legal aspects of these issues. Put simply, it is acceptable to discuss the merits legal topics such as file sharing, but not acceptable to engage in illegal activities.

-----

Who Are The Current Staff?

For a list of all administrators, super moderators, and moderators you can check out this page: Staff Listing

What Can Staff Do?

- Administrators have the power to do anything -- see your IP address, IP ban, appoint moderators, make new forums, edit forums, edit threads, edit users, ban users, and a whole list of other things.

- Super Moderators are allowed to edit, move, lock, and delete threads, as well as seeing your IP address. Super mods can also ban users.

- Moderators can only edit, move, lock, and delete threads in forums they moderate, as opposed to administrators and super moderators who have control of all forums. To see what moderator moderates what forum, you can look on the index page or check the Staff page mentioned above.

NOTE: All staff members who can ban, can do so for any reason he or she wants, whether it is breaking the rules or a dislike in attitude.

Staff Editing Rights:

Any staff member has the right to edit any post he or she feels is inappropriate (against the rules, for instance). If a moderator edits your post and you feel that it was in no way "harmful" to anyone, you should contact an administrator. (More on that below.) If you disagree with this, you shouldn't have signed up (it's on the registration page, so if you didn't read it, that's your fault).

-----

When Should I Contact A Staff Member? Who Should I Contact?

First off, there should be a legitimate reason to contact a staff member (if it is board-related). If a moderator or admin locks your topic and the explanation in the post is not clear, you are permitted to PM him or her and ask why. Do not try to debate too much, though, as most threads are locked for a reason.

-----

Disciplinary Actions:

While MMA Forum would love for all of its members to adhere to the Board Guidelines we know that some members willingly will not follow the rules, with that here are the terms of disciplinary actions:

1. Warning - for the first offense of any of the board guidelines
2. 3-day suspension on the second occurrence of failing to comply with Board Guidelines.
3. 10-day suspension on the third occurrence for failing to comply with Board Guidelines.
4. Banning from the site. This is typically a last resort, but users who refuse to adhere to these guidelines may be removed at the discretion of MMA Forum staff. We here at MMA Forum want to make this the most enjoyable experience for all who come to the board to read, post or just basically see what we have to offer.

-----

Disclaimer: These guidelines are just that, and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list of inappropriate behavior or comprehensive guide to punishments. As in other instances of dealing with other people, let common sense be your guide and make an effort to treat other people the way you wish to be treated. In return, the staff of MMA Forum will exercise common sense and make every reasonable effort to make this a fun and informative place to visit. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact a member of the staff!

Thank you for taking the time to read through our Board Guidelines. Welcome to the board, and we look forward to your posts.
