Too many fight reviews fail to see the positive in boring fights and in particular the contribution facial hair has to play

Facial hair plays a key role in MMA.

Watched Tom Erikson vs Heath Herring (Pride 11). Damn, I love this fight, and people who say Heath sucks now should watch this, and watch when Heath was actually considered a good fighter. Erikson is massive, and at one point, no one wanted to fight the guy because he was so dangerous. Erikson takes Heath down, pounds on him, the ref stands them up, Heath goes apeshit, kicks Erikson in the face twice, and then chokes him out. Absolutely huge win for Heath, and possibly his greatest fight.

Sadly, that was the only good fight on the card. The main event? Shannon freakin' Ritch against Sakuraba. I shit you not, fellas. This goes about a minute.

Most of the time, the early Pride shows sucked, but there was that one gem that made everything A-Okay. Fighters like Vovchanchyn (VOVY!), Mezger, Sakuraba, Newton, and Silva carried these shows. Herring played his part, as well.

Hoost will be remembered as the greatest Dutchman in combat sports, then Peter Aerts.

I'd say Bas, then Aerts and Hoost 3rd, maybe Dennis Bergkamp if he ever fought

Hey i see what you mean, i like Souwer but he wont be remembered as being better than Buakaw ( if things stay the same), i cant just ignore Hoosts record, imo he's the best, that doesnt mean he's my favourite though.
