EliteXC and CBS Announce Next Show - Oct. 4
Quote:
During the CBS broadcast of Elite XC Saturday Night Fights, the promotion announced their next network show set to take place on Oct 4 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla at the Bank Atlantic Center.
Popular heavyweight fighter, Kimbo Slice, was in attendance at the show on Saturday night and he was announced as a participant and likely main eventer for the next CBS/Elite XC Saturday Night Fights card.
Also slated to be on the Oct. 4 show will be still undefeated female MMA sensation, Gina Carano, who sat cageside and gave her thoughts after the Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and Shayna Baszler fight.
It was mentioned during the broadcast that Carano could face the winner of the Cyborg/Baszler, but it has been rumored that she may face veteran fighter, Kelly Kobald instead.
Many other fighters could end up on the next CBS card including the man who called out Kimbo Slice after his last fight, Brett “The Grim” Rogers, but it hasn’t been determined if he will be the one to face Kimbo in the main event.

Damn that sucks I've got a big fireworks show to do that night. Tivo to the rescue. I'm really hoping the give a legit HW to Kimbo, at least as legit as EXC gets in that division. I'm glad that CBS is happy with EXC, the more exposure MMA gets in the mainstream the better.

i hope im wrong but i think its a long time till mr.shaw puts his moneybag in a possible loosing position. We all know that the last kimbo fight was shady at best , and im not just talking about the fighting either. My guess is that they put him against another big name but a poor fighter. take tank abbott for example, he was 1 - 7 !!!! in his last 8 before he met Slice, but still..... hes a big name so the commentators can yell " Kimbo Slice is THE REAL DEAL !!! " ( in various forms ). But ok ... who do they have ho is legit ? well , they do have Antonio Silva ho imo is a top 10 HW. they also got brett rogers ho is pretty decent but it doesnt matter cuz i doubt they will match kimbo with any of them.

I really hope they make a match between Cyborg and Carano.
Gina won't be so pretty after that fight. But if she wins, she's definitely the real deal.

I'd love to fight Dana White to show him how tough women are.

Never happen. Elite XC will go out of buisness, which will probably happen within two years, before that happens.

LOL...that's a little harsh. So far, in my opinion, the Elite XC fights have been just as exciting as the UFC fights if not more. Maybe you could elaborate a little more on your prediction and give me and the fine people on this thread some insight.

Pro Elite, their parent company is trading at 2.40 per share, down from 15.00 this time last year with no sign of recovery for the short term. They're treading a very fine line, the same one that the IFL was on over the past year or so. The IFL is deceased. Things could turn around, of course, but personally, I think the Pro Elite companies aren't far from going their separate ways and/or dying.

I am aware of the price per share and the fact that its down but what isn't down right now? Hard to make predictions based on stock prices with the economy the way it is. You may be right...not saying your wrong, I just wanted to see your thoughts. Only time will tell huh? Regardless of the stock price....you gotta love the fights (within any organization), that's what its all about.
