Also what is the deal with Strikeforce guys like Thompson and Melendez. Can they fight in Elite XC, or is that just for Shamrock?
Ah, #2? Now that is music..... Nick Diaz has had trouble with making weight in the past. But with other top tier LWs in EliteXC I don't think they'd put that in a twist to accomodate Diaz.

Strikeforce has a promoting alliance with EliteXC and they share fighters back and fourth. Thompson and Melendez have been focused on eachother latley. 6 Months before the fight so they were tied up, and now they can move ahead.

Look at the thread I just made on Josh Thompson. It's in this section. He definatly has interest in an Elite fighter.

I don't see how being the #2 WW in the world and losing to the #1 WW in the world would drop you in the rankings, that just doesn't make sense to me but apparently not a lot of things do over at Sherdog. Nothing against Alvarez, but he ain't ahead of Fitch, at least in my books.

Alvarez is a LW "Sinister". He just tore up the LW Grand Prix in Japan. He's 15-1 with wins over, Kawajiri, Andre (Dida) Amade, and Joachim Hansen.

Not a biggie, I've done it before.
I'm just glad to see him finally ranked in the top 5. He's definatly one of the most dangerous LWs I've seen in a long time.
