Battlefield 3 is by far the greatest game in the world.
This happened to me and will never be able to happen in any other game.
I was flying a jet, me and my IRL buddy were making strafe runs on a couple objectives. Next thing you know we're in a dog fight with 2 other jets. We team up and get behind one of the jets and we focus fire on it and we manage to bring it down. But soon after, my locked-on alarm is blaring and I take massive damage from the other jet. I'm forced to eject.
I fly out of my cockpit, and after flying up through the air, I start to fall. I'm on top of B but B is controlled by the enemy so I start to direct my fall towards C. After falling a good distance I flip my parachute and aim for the top of a building so I can snipe. With luck I land on top of that building, but I'm spotted by a tank as I go down.
The tank opens fire on my position and almost kills me with the blast, I run for cover but I'm pinned down as the tank is firing rounds on me. I call out to my friend who's still in the jet, and he's able to spot the tank. He takes it out quickly (How he took it out, I don't know.) but that leaves me to open up and start sniping at the engineers on the ground that were surrounding it. I took out 2 of the 3, and with them dead we're able to capture B and control all the position to end the game.
That's battlefield for your ass.

Yeah BF3 is great. Everything about it from the engine to the gameplay.

BF3 is possibly the worst game ever, I try to play online and I am dead is the name of the game, I don't even know what is going on 100% of the time I am just dead over and over and over.

Nah, just takes getting used to. In terms of realism, graphics, and things to do, it blows all the other ones out of the water. Halo, COD, all of them.
It's not run and gun, you have to be more strategic about it. Utilizing cover and checking before running.

I haven't got a chance to play bf3 yet. I've been doing mw3 online recently. I found this "infection" style of game on mw3, and I can't get enough. Basically it's a 12-18 player game which is timed, one player is chosen randomly as the "infected". They have five minutes to infect everyone else or they lose. The uninflected get either shotgun/assault rifle/smg/Barrett .50cal bmg and the infected only have knives. Once killed you become infected and infinitely spawn. Reminds me of a zombie apoc kind of situation.

They had that in Halo as well.

My favourite time during BF3 was either when I shot a jet out the sky with a shell from the tank. The time I was waiting on a chopper to spawn so randomly shot a RPG at the enmy spawn cause I was bored and got a kill about 2 minutes later or......
Me and my wingman Jay were assaulting the M-COMS on operation METRO, RUSH. We were getting our asses kicked badly. I was Recon with the spawn beacon but had a P90 out. I got behind the MCOM next to the little bridge and the pool at the radar station and I set up my beacon, we then headed back to plant and HOLY MOTHER OF GAWD THERE IS 8 OF THEM. Death ensued very quickly and they found our spawn beacon. We were sitting on the spawn menu just watching the 8 of them stare at it. Then they got bored and moved on leaving one dude ready to spawn kill us when we went for it. Then........ he looked away. In the briefest of instances we saw our chance and made our move. I spawned in a flash and slit his throat as Jay launched a grenade into the group of 7 moving as a unit, killing 2 we then sprayed Rambo style, even stopping to reload. In their confusion they ended up spraying all over the place, at each other, rocks and trees but we were Gods and could not be touched by these mortals. All of them died screaming (more likely screaming obscenities at the dude who dropped the ball but y'know). We planted the M-COM and took it out and they were broken. We then went on to dominate the entire game, I have the photo on my phone I ended up 74 - 14.
It was the best game I have ever played. Final result was 54k points (medals for 10k beatches).
I think I'm having a total geek out reminiscing about it.....

But I can't even see who is shooting me, I don't even see a person from the other team before I am dead. Call me crazy but I like run and gun, or at least the fact that everyone in Halo kinda stands out like a sore thumb for me its part of its appeal. I will keep trying but so far not impressed.

You'll start seeing them. The more you play, just make sure you turn the volume up. You need to hear where enemies are shooting from as well. Usually they won't kill you right away and you'll have time to duck and cover if you know what direction they're firing from.
Do this. Grab a sniper, run up a mountain or giant hill or something like that. Slow yourself down, watch people from a high point. See how they move. Take a few shots if you feel comfortable, they might see and kill you but eventually you'll learn how to snipe people.
Also... treat the game like it's real life. In real life you wouldn't run and gun in a war, and it just doesn't work here. Real life tactics work better than you'd think.

47 minutes of game time, exactly 2 kills. FML
