Yeah no runes this time around (expect them in an expansion of course).
Hell is definitely hard. You and me killed Diablo on NM last night very easily, but any champion mob group on hell gives me trouble, although still doable.
I'm starting Hell over from the beginning to get more xp.

Beat Hell last night with some buddies. Shit is TOUGH. Playing Barbarian against elites/champions with Molton/anything that gets left on the floor makes things SO annoying.
I'm level 60, 45k health, 8k armour, and die in about 3 seconds if I stand in that crap, yet can tank tons of shit without it. Melee classes are really gimped for Hell/Inferno compared to ranged characters.
Only played a bit of Inferno, and it is mental. Even base normal rubbish zombies can kill me if I'm not paying attention, and champions/elites? Yeah ok...

I hear Barbs are gimped on inferno, to a point where nobody has gotten passed act 2 solo. I'm considering leaving my barb half way through hell until better gear appears to buy/it gets more balanced, maybe roll a wizard.

I'm rolling a Wizard also. Hell gets *very* hard in the later stages, but ONLY for elites/champions. Everything else is easy. Elites/champions pretty much make me run around kiting, leaping in to stun/use shouts every now and again while my team kill them. Some I can tank (like illusionists/mortar), but Molten/Arcane/Poison make me pretty much useless.
I hate the fact that for those encounters, being in melee range on a MELEE character gets you insta killed.
Boss fights I swap out some defence for damage and it's fine.
Diablo on hell took us about 8 attempts or so(Party was me, 2 wizards and a witch doctor). The second part of the fight is the hardest, with the clones.

Hmm.
I am very disappointed to hear about barb in late hell/inferno, he's such a beast pre hell and even on the first two acts of hell seems pretty well balanced. Everyone and their mom is saying they suck in inferno, though, so I'm inclined to believe.
Wizard... they just aren't totally fun. I mean they are cool but nothing beats the pure power of the barb, it really sucks he is so badly balanced "end game".
It's either a wizard/demon hunter for me.
edit - it reminds me of the operative on SWTOR. Everyone said the operative was great 1vs1 and solid up until level 50, but at 50 in PvP and PvE, he sucked a lot compared to other classes. I was like meh, it's prob just skill based it'll be fine - no, no, that class totally freaking blows at end-game (I don't play the game anymore haven't for a long time).
Now on D3 I'm like meh, it's prob just skill based it'll be fine, but more than likely barb is actually gimped, and I don't want to hair-pull my way through heal until he is fixed/more gear comes out.

I don't think the Barb is broken in Inferno, I think DH and Wizard are just over powered (being able to solo farm and take zero dmg = stupid)
Only thing that needs changing (imo) is how damage is scaled towards the barbarian in relation to Molton/Poison/Fire chain etc, they seem to completely ignore damage reduction and armour.

Blizzard seems to make mechanics like this a lot. Now whether this is intended or not in this game I have no idea but I know in WoW there are mechanics in fights that ignore armore and mitigation and instead take a percentage of health.

M.C why you no add me?
Add you soon Tra!
Inferno is insanely cool. The elites/champions have a hex, that if you don't kill them fast enough, you start taking thousands of dmg per second.
