Other than the prison montage, I wasn't really impressed with this episode on any level. I found it to be entirely predictable. Probably my least favourite ep of the series. Silly that we have to wait another full year for the last 8 eps too, talk about milking it. They should be great though.
Currently rewatching the show. I'm in the middle of season 2, approaching the episode where they are cooking in the New Mexico desert and the RV breaks down, the Pine Barrens of Breaking Bad (Sopranos reference). Can't wait for that one.
Is Skyler meant to be such an unpleasant and unlikeable whore? She isn't really written as a bad guy at all, but everytime she speaks I feel like punching her big massive jaw in. Am I alone in this? The only other character I can compare it to is Janice (another Sopranos reference). Or maybe I just hate middle aged women. I don't know.
You're not gonna believe this. He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator. That episode was written by Steve Buscemi who of course is in Boardwalk Empire. I always mulled over how they ended his character.
Sadly this scene precipitated his death. Not really a spoiler anymore, but we should take this to a Soprano thread...hahaha.
Notice the camera angle zooming only on Phil's eyes and his expression. That alone says it all with the do wop music playing in the background. When you don't have any dialogue whatsoever, but the audience knows what the character is contemplating then you know you're a genius at work. This was similar to Walt spinning the gun.
Learned that in any shows or films there are always a few characters whom the audience will loathe or disdain even; Janice, Ralphie, Skyler...heh...heh. I was actually rooting for Gus cuz to me he's the consumate upper echelon villain. Such a unique character. "Hermanos" was one of my favorite episodes. One where you actually feel for the characters.
PS: They never showed the body. Maybe he was up in the tree.

Didn't like this season at all. They should've cut the show after Gus died. That was such an epic ending and it summed the show up nicely.
I really don't care for the evil Walt either. It's hard to believe someone as smart as himself would become such an idiot and unaware of the people around him.
Just finished watching the last episode. Kept hearing how good it was but just didn't want to get into another show. Then I made the mistake about 2 months ago of watching the first episode. Damn this is an entertaining show.

I watched it when it came out. It was some good TV. Have you seen The Wire? That was a pretty good cop show as well.
I tried The Wire a while back but just couldn't really get into it. Things seemed to be really slow at developing. That was a long time ago though, so I'll probably download it again and give it another shot.
