The Amazing Spider-Man

At first i hated the idea of a reboot for the franchise but god damn, this movie is so good. I'm still around halfway through with the movie and so far, Andrew Garfield combined with Emma Stone do sth for me that Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst couldn't.

Who saw this when it was on theaters, what did you think?

Edit: No idea why but i just realised Emma wasn't playing MJ but Gwen Stacy. I know it's part of Peter Parkers development and all but still. I hate it, now their probably going to kill her off and make it seem like Peter has to settle with MJ in the sequels. Just like they did with Smallville, 7 seasons of Lana Lang only for Clark to find Lois in the end which made things unrealistic.

I saw it. Didn't hate it but didn't like it either. It was just kind of there. Though two things did bug the shit out of me. One - the sfx on the Lizard were terrible. Two - Peter's classmates have got to be idiots to not figure out he was Spider-Man with all the crap he did in front of them.

I tend to overlook these things. :p Like noone realizing who Superman was because he didn't wear glasses, nobody figuring out that Hal Jordan was the Green Lantern because he wore a freakin eyething etc.

Also about the Gwem thing, how big are the chances of her surviving and finishing the movies with Peter? Everyone seems to love Emma's portrayal of her and wasn't she suppose to be Spideys endgame as well at one point?

I didn't really like her as Gwen. I'm kinda hoping they go the classic route, kill her off, and bring in somebody with some base acting skill. As to whether or not they keep her... I don't know. I doubt I'd actually watch a sequel to this movie anyway. It just wasn't interesting enough for me to pay to watch a sequel.

It's probably the worst blockbuster film of 2012 I have seen thus far.

The scenes get worse than the youtube video I posted above as well.

Every thing from the forced dialogue, horrendous sound track, and story that has zero cohesion made this some sort of high school music/twilight version of spiderman.

I thought it was abysmal.

My main issue is that it's supposed to be a trilogy. That means they'd probably have to kill Gwen at the end of the 2nd. Bringing in MJ and making her seem like the love of his life with all the aftermath of Gwens death, Parkers transformation into a real superhero etc. just wouldn't be enough imo.

There's plenty of other good movies for you out there. :)

Exactly. I will contentedly wait for the next movies on my interest list* and not worry about one movie that did not catch my attention.

*The Hobbit, Dredd, The Man With The Iron Fist, Taken 2, etc.

Ooh man The Hobbit. Definitely can't wait for that one.

After the work Peter Jackson did on the Lord of the Rings I can't wait to see the Hobbit. Especially cause he said that he's going to keep Guillermo del Toro's design for Smaug.

I didn't find it to be much of a reboot. It seemed almost the same only different actors. It was ok, and I will watch the next one, but wasn't overly impressed.
