New Mass Effect game in the works
Quote:
BioWare have confirmed there is a new Mass Effect game in the works as well as a new IP ”built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology”. The announcement comes via a new blogpost from BioWare Edmonton and Montreal general manager Aaryn Flynn, in which he discusses the company’s future following the departure of co-founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka.
Although Mass Effect 3 wrapped up the current story arc, Flynn said: “The Mass Effect universe is vast, and Casey [Executive Producer Casey Hudson] and our teams have plans for another full game.” Flynn also requested input from gamers, saying: ““Where to go next?” with such a project has been a question a lot of us have been asking, and we’d all love to hear your ideas.”
Even with Mass Effect 3′s story tied off, there’s still room for DLC: players will soon have the opportunity to return to Omega space station, it was confirmed.
There is also the promise of new IP on the way. “Both Dragon Age and Mass Effect started as single games but grew into vast universes. But we aren’t stopping there,” said Flynn.
“While Casey continues to oversee the development of our new Mass Effect project, he and his leads are putting together their vision for an all new game set in a fictional universe, built from the bottom-up with all new gaming technology.”
Whatever exciting projects BioWare have in store, as soon as we know more you will too.

I always figured they'd make another one. With the high praise and the amazing universe they created, they were bound to do it. So thoughts, predictions?

I think it will be an okay game, but not nearly what it was. Kind of like halo after Master Chief left. The game just lost something.

I'll be passing.
I want nothing to do with the ME series anymore and I'll never participate in another Bioware series again. Stand alone games, maybe, but if a game is expect to have sequels, no a chance in hell. Fool me twice and I'm done.

BioWare is just a name at this point imo, EA have pretty much absorbed them. Isn't the guy writing or in charge who messed up the original ME3 ending?
Either way i might try it for the love of the whole universe.

I may try it, but I am not going in with huge expectations.

This after hundreds of hours of gameplay invested into a game I loved, it was all ruined along with my faith in the company in about ten minutes.

I started the series after the extended ending was released. I must admit, i'm afraid and prolly never look the original one.

Definitely a smart move watching the extended cut first and not the original. The original ending made a lot of people bitter and earned EA the "Worst Company in America Award" by the Consumerist. Hopefully EA learns something from this experience.
But you know what I'm not going to let 10 lousy minutes ruin the entire trilogy for me nor I'm I going to turn my nose down at what could be a damn good game. Will it be good? Who knows? I'm going to give it a chance just the same.

Was kinda disappointed with Mass Effect 3, but i never actually found the ending to be all that bad. probably because i didn't expect it to be good in the first place. i still love the universe and the characters(well the ones that are left) but with most of the important people at Bioware leaving. this will just became a EA cash grab.

It is pretty much a money grab. At least they said they're not going near the original trilogy.
