Okay, so I got a new PS3, new acc and everything. I bought a top up to get the new Walking Dead series. I used to buy stuff on my mates acc, which had his bank account linked up. I dont have anything linked to mine. Now, my top is is saying that it;s either being used or is mistyped when I go to redeem codes. Do I need a bank account, or is this a technical issue? If so, should I contact the shop or Sony?

Hope this isn't too late...

Sounds like you need to get yourself a PSN account. Once you register for the PSN account and use your PS3 to sign in to it, you can then claim and redeem the PSN codes. It shouldn't make a difference if you have a CC attached to the account info or not.

Thats what I meant with the "new acc". It's just that the redeem code isnt working. I'm thinking they didnt activate it behind the counter, so I'll head up when I'm hungover tommorow. I know the manager dude and he'd be the only one having a clue what Im on about haha.

UPDATE: Went to the video game shop where I bought it. They say I have to ring Sony to sort it. I'm assuming that they dont activate it in the shop since this is Ireland and the risk of being robbed for PSN cards is quite low. They're probably all pre-activated. Now, I have to spend a fortune on a fuking helpline. Great.
