Vegas 2012 (New TV Series)

Tried to get into Downtown Abbey, but realized I needed some old fashion gambling, mobsters, and strippers to wet my appetite. Stumbled upon a new syndicated tv series starring Dennis Quaid as a sheriff cowboy, Michael Chiklis as casino owner run by the Chicago Outfit, and Carrie-Anne Moss aka Trinity from Matrix who is the assistant district attorney.

It's a period piece from the 60's which is after Bugsy of course. Pretty much a time where the casinos began their colossal transition from small time to a world renowned mecca with lots of colourful characters entering the picture.

The other Vegas series had a much more modern take with James Caan at the helm. It was too bad he left being replaced with Magnum PI...heh...heh. The show was never the same after. Man they had hot actresses in that show version.

If you're looking for something light and entertaining give the show a try.

Note: Created by Nicholas Pileggi. For those who don't know who he is, he was responsible for creating a book called "Wiseguy" which later became "Goodfellas" and "Casino." So you know it's pretty authentic.

Mike from Breaking Bad plays a cameo of a Chicago Outfit boss.

PS: PM me for the link.

Sent the link. It mostly evolves around real life character of the cowboy sheriff Ralph Lamb, but the elements around the mob run casinos is what makes it intriguing. Cowboy meets mobsters.

What they need to do is create a film on Havana Nocturne about the mob run casinos in the 50's. That's why they went back and focused on Vegas. In Havana they had full control of the casinos under Batista's regime before Castro took over. In Vegas you can see that local law enforcement, then the state and federal government would step in eventually ousting the mob.

Read up on this after you watch a couple of episodes. This guy (Ralph Lamb) has a treasure trove of stories of old Vegas.
