Dragonstone is an island so it's a fair guess. On the other hand Storm's End is on the coast as well, isn't it?

No Mercy, I highly, highly recommend reading the books prior to watching any of the tv series. I know that may be impossible at this point, but the books provide such an exquisite level of detail that is just beyond reach on camera.

There are also differences in what occurs, there are added scenes in the series that are not in the books, and as much as I love the tv series having bought season 1 and 2 on blu ray, the books are infinitely better.

I originally received book 1-4 in book form from my brother and read them, then bought book 5 on kindle and read that. Then when I finished 5...I bought books 1-4 on kindle as well and started on book 1 again and am half way through a re-read of book 2 at this point.

I can tell you that this is the only 5,000+ page story that I have ever endeavored to read twice. It is that good.

However, I do recommend buying the works and reading them on Kindle if possible, because the text of the novels is kind of crammed together and difficult to read with old eyes.

On the Kindle there is a space between each line, and that makes it so, so much easier.

I've read many books in my life, and I've never read a story as good as A Song of Fire and Ice. Martin will always have my respect and love. He is a master.

Sublime! I'm a pretty fast reader. Currently reading The Biggest Band Of Brother: Memoirs Of Major Winters. Great read. When I find some time I may get into this. For now I'm gettin' ready for the season 3 premiere this Sunday!!!

I enjoyed the episode, except for the very first and the very last scene. Both are monumental chapters in the book that didn't feel quite as epic as they should. Also we didn't get any Jaime, which was a bummer, but on the bright side, this was probably the best Tyrion episode yet, he was brilliant throughout. It's gonna be a great season.

Totally agree with Luck. It's been a while since I read Storm of Swords but those two scenes definitely, whilst I did enjoy them, felt rushed.

I cannot remember the exact time in the book Sam becomes 'Sam the Slayer' but it's after the Battle of the Fist of the First Men right? Have they completely skipped that battle!?

And if I remember correctly Sam DID let the ravens loose in the books. Not quite sure where they are going with this.

Loved the Unsullied scene and the Warlock attack.

Tyrion incredible as always.

Selmy at the end felt like it lacked a bit of weight. It's a BIG moment and I'm sure the majority of people who haven't read the books don't really get the significance of that moment.

Yes, yes and yes. They did the low budget thing by skipping the battle entirely. The Battle of the Fist of the First Men is such an epic battle, hell, the name alone is epic. Also, from the little we did see, the Nights Watch kinda just stood around chilling, it didn't look like they had just been assaulted by an army of mythical monsters from the ancient past.

I've enjoyed the last two episodes, though last night's did seem a bit bland. That said, I understand that some episodes serve as story progression. I worry that this season will have so much packed into it that certain angles will feel rushed. But then Game of Thrones has always had a sort of 'worldly' feel, where several stories unfold all at once.

I'm curious as to whether we'll be seeing more of the white walkers. If all we're treated to is a headless corpse and a presumably off screen battle, I have to admit I'll be disappointed.

Enjoyed the episode a lot, this show has so much class. The dialogue is so well done. Margaery is really growing on me, she seems more and more like an excellent fit for the part. Something that did annoy me was the Jaime/Brienne fight, Jaime was made to look a fool, and he is likely the best sword fighter in the Seven Kingdoms.

As for the show feeling rushed, I wouldn't worry about it, from a book to show point of view this season should cover less pages than the two prior seasons. The characters are all really scattered right now though, which can make it tough to keep up, but that will get better.
