I was about to clarify Jon's possible origin then Kry explained it. It's quite possible. Jon Snow is the only one now who can avenge his entire family. Dumbass Theon turned traitor, Sansa is pretty useless, Arya while a badass is too traumatized I'd imagine. Bran and his younger bro are well...too young still. Man they're entire family and kingdom has been decimated. Same goes for the Targaryens.

I read something interesting about

When is the last book slated to be completed.

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Genuine REAL spoilers. Do NOT read unless you're No Mercy or have read the books or don't really care

6th book will probably be out around 2015/2016 with the final book coming 5-6 years after unless Martin speeds up.

Holy are you serious. I read that George Martin already debriefed the producers of the show on how it's going to end "in case he doesn't make it." Started studying the family tree and realized that Martin must have worked day and night on this. There are sooo many characters/houses/clans, it's unlike any other series I've ever seen or read about. I'm pretty certain his IQ is around 160-180. The way the story comes together and comes full circle is quite incredible. Everything is tied in neatly somehow. Martin has quite the imagination.

The series will be very difficult to top within the next century. Harry Potter is for the kids and I can see why it's popular. The Hobbit/LOTR is pretty much the original when it comes to fantasy fiction. I mean King Arthur is a cool story, but doesn't have the depth of GOT. Really amazing. Still remember when I saw the trailer with Sean Bean. I was excited, but apprehensive. I wasn't sure how good it would turn out.

I was expecting to read a sardonic comment from ya Os...lolz! It was definitely one of the strongest seasons to an otherwise stellar series. Man, what a penultimate episode followed by a liberating season finale. If they ended it with the Red Wedding I think all of us would have been seriously pissed off.

Arya is hilarious. I was laughing. She's like that cute little bunny with fangs. That Valar Morghulis coin would be sick to use as a card cap for poker.

I've come to the conclusion that Joffrey has a missing chromosome.

Wildling girls remind me of some past ex girls that I knew. Scary, but strangely riveting.

Tywin is Bernie Madoff or any corporate CEO for that matter.
Rule with cunnning and deception, but it all catches up to them sooner or later.

Stannis is Jason Stratham's long lost brother.

I'm prolly going to ask my Halloween date to dress up as Melisandre.

Varys is turning out to be a benevolent character who happens to be extremely guile.

Will Walder Frey and Roose Bolton become the "Rat Cook."

They really downplayed Jon Snow in this last episode, but I have a feeling he will play an important part in the future.

Sam Tarley reminds me of Cartmen from Southpark. Seriously.

It's been hella fun recapping and commenting on this show's season. See ya next year...or in the other threads.

Damn...I love this show.

PS: Just found this link on all the top shocking moments in a gif format of the show!

My favorite tv show. Good enough that I'm 20 chapters in to the first grown up book without pictures that I've read in a few years.

If the final scene between Jon and Egret wasn't painfully familiar your probably still a virgin.

Most shows do that terrible WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?!? cliffhanger at the very end or just outright wrap up the storyline with little foreshadowing. Most of this episode was spent wrapping up and foreshadowing in an interesting way.

They have excellent writers, producers, and directors who are all under George Martin's supervision. Some things are thrown in there that apparently detract from the book, but that's just for entertainment value or in the Red Wedding scene to create a more dramatic effect. There's simply too much to pack in an episode or season so they extract the main points. Kry would be an expert on this since he's read all the books twice! Keep in mind there's like 25+ main characters with multiple story lines intertwined. There are no other tv shows with that depth. Another is the wardrobe and set production which film quality with the exception of the battle scenes. It's reportedly cost $6 million per episode. That's almost a feature film.

It's going to pretty darn tough to top this show in its scope. They're booking A listers on their roster too.

I was pissed at the finale purely because I was hoping for at least one of 3 things to occur that happened in book 3. I assume they're saving them for the 4th season, what with book 4 having little 'omfg' moments to draw from and saving book 5 elements for the 5th season (although some are already in season 3)

But, taking out the fact I spent the first 30mins wondering when something was going to start, and the final 30 realising it wasn't going to and being a grumpy bastard it was good. I'm getting a bit bored of the Daenery's endings that always end with the cameras panning out and the dragons wailing. Amazing the first 2 times but come on, be more original.

Also, for book fans, Winds of Winter is estimated next year and the GRRM-arillion is out next year also.

More info on the GRRM-arillion here -
