Did see the Exorcist though when I was way too young. spooky... Also Poltergeist 3 made me very weary of mirrors for a bit.
I forgot about the Exorcist. When I was young and I watched that movie I drove my parents nuts because I was afraid the Devil was going to possess me. Yeah, I was kind of stupid back then. Kinda stupid now but lets forget that for now shall we.

Revenge of the body Snatchers scared me when i was younger. not really a shaking in my boots scared just a creepy kind of feeling scare

Arachnaphobia had the biggest effect on me though i could not take a shower or put on shoes for at least a year with out checking for spiders

honestly i kinda over did it on scary and horror movies growing up though so kinda got immune to it, horror never scared me though but the mental scary movies sometimes creeped me a bit

all time favorite horror villain/hero though is without a doubt pinhead though

not really a horror thriller fan, but the 1st Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a bit nuts when they were having dinner, and the mother has a mask.. i must of been picturing myself in the girl's situation wich i find hard with most horrors, Jacobs Ladder is my personal favourite, i was scared off it by my brother when i wanted to watch it at a young age, and i can kind of see why. I grew up watching horrors and stuff at a very early age so im not too bad with them, i kind of look more for a good plot/acting in horrors, too many are the same with stupid as shit characters, car key drops, among other predictable occurrences.

Actually thought The Shining was good

I don't get scared by horror films as my mind always drifts to the thought of the actors taking a cut after each take, probably laughing at each other trying to act scared and it takes me out of the "moment". I don't do this to other films for some reason, only horror movies that try to be scary.

With that said there's a lot of really good horror movies out there, I just don't get "scared" by them and never really have. Good entertainment, though.

The other thing with horror movies these days is that it relies to heavily on jump scares. Paranormal Activity is a big one for that. Its so cheap because you didn't scare me, you startled me. Their is a difference. Being scared is something that will stick with you where as a jump scare startles you and you forget about it 10 seconds later.

Watch this and you'll get my drift.

I remember the remake of Friday 13th had one jump scare that was just a dog barking really goddamn loud. It was also the scariest scene in the whole movie.

Yeah. My friends get on me all the time because I jump at just about ******* anything. It's nothing to do with fear, it's self defense and years of living in shitty places and doing martial arts, you prepare to fight or at least be ready at the smallest anything. Me jumping at movies is the same reason I tell literally everyone I know, don't try to jump out and scare me, you will get hit in the face.

A movie can startle me twenty times but when I go home I'm not freaked out wondering if I'm safe, I've forgotten all about the movie.

Jump out thrills are the cheapest of cheap, unless of course they have been because of a nice and decent amount of time and tension built up and then the payoff comes.
