Exodus. Easily. Mainly because I was right at the front, and sung the chorus for Toxic Waltz

They played for AGES as well, were out in the crowd laughing and drinking beers when the support bands were on as well, and stayed for hours after the gig around their tour bus to sign stuff and chat.

Oh one more contribution...Spinal Tap!

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

That'd be amazing. I would say Machine Head or In Flames was the best band I've seen live.

I wouldn't say I'm a huge metalhead as I don't listen exclusively to metal and I don't really delve into sub-genres and the darker stuff. But I regularly listen to heavy metal and some trash metal. Metallica was the first band I got into, I had a huge Metallica phase when I was 15, that was pretty much everything I listened to for a whole year. The 200th time I heard the guitar in the chorus of Welcome Home (Sanitarium) I was as into it as the first time. I'm not as into them as I was but I still love them.

My favourite band of all time is Led Zeppelin, whether they are metal or not is debatable, probably not but they have influenced a massive part of the metal scene.

The metal bands I listen to regularly are Black Sabbath, Pantera, Down, Megadeth, Exodus... I guess thats it. I like Iron Maiden but I dont listen to them that much anymore.

I've seen Metallica (x3), Slayer, Motorhead, Maiden and Down live. I think thats it.

Bonus nugget, best albums:
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality (Sabotage and Headless Cross right behind, the latter criminally underrated!)
Pantera - Vulgar Display Of Power
DOWN - NOLA
Megadeth - Rust In Peace, boring answer but their most complete record. Peace Sells... shines more but is more inconsistent
Iron Maiden - Brave New World
Exodus - Bounded By Blood

This thread appeals to me.

I'm a big music enthusiast and I'm pretty much into anything rock and metal (with some exceptions). If you took a look at my music library you'd probably say I'm a metal guy although I like me some rock, jazz, classical and everything in between. Some people would say I listen to weird stuff. I would agree with them.

Not really big on the whole subgenre thing. I know them all and I can tell you what they sound like but putting a stamp on everything gets boring after a while and it doesn't do the music justice.

I don't really have one band or artist that I'd call my favorite, I'd have to list at least ten and then I'd feel bad about the bands I didn't list.

You can check out the stuff I like to listen to on my last.fm profile. It's not a full list though because it only covers the music I listen to on this computer.

Bands I've seen live include Pain of Salvation, Katatonia, Opeth, Porcupine Tree (big fan of Steve Wilson's solo work too and also his skills as a mixer and producer), Hypocrisy, Metallica, Ensiferum, Ghost Brigade, Anathema, Amon Amarth, Long Distance Calling and then some...

Gonna see Long Distance Calling and Solstafir next month and Agalloch in April.

Here's a little something.

I don't remember Pitchshifter but if you wanna get back into black metal-ish stuff, one guy from Emperor is still going strong.

I dare you to not sing along with the hook.
