St. Anger was okay. For a big Metallica fan like myself it was hard to like St. Anger because they completely changes there style around and bob rock really rushed them to get it out when it wasn't even ready.

I hear they are working on another album I hope they can get back to their roots.

Sadly though I think Rehab hurt Hetfield in the process of helping him

anyway back on topic

Master of Puppets - Metallica(A masterpiece)
Not sure how old you are but I grew up listening to Metallica...and the black album and subsequent load re-load shit was such a let down...

funny cuz Cliff's influence is most felt on And Justice for All...he wrote a lot of the more complex stuff for that album...I really have to wonder where they would be had Cliff not died...

The ones you say are the best are but i also like the other ones.

What i meant by lack of bass is that Metallica actually decided to tone down the bass on the album.

Cliff was a VERY skilled Bassist and a fantastic song writer.

Yes they are working on a new album and i have also heard they are trying to go back to their older style(They actually played a new song live called "Death is not the End" i believe and it was quite good). And they have a great new producer and a better Bass player in Rob Trujillo(Bassist of Suicidal Tendencies, Ozzy Osbourne and Infectious Grooves) then Jason Newstead who did the job but didn't seem to do much other then do what the others told him to do.

Yes, I think his name is Rick Rufus but i know he is a great producer. He has produced for Slayer and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Bob Rock was bad, He did nothing good for the band.
