Man of Steel

Is there a thread on this already? If so I probably made it but I cannot be arsed to look.

So, here is another

Haven't been this excited for a film in a long time. I was skeptical for a while, thinking it'd be another terrible Superman film. Now, after seeing the trailers and promo work for the film, I have giant hopes for it. It looks absolutely amazing.

Pretty excited myself. Too bad Tom Welling from Smallville didn't star in this though.

So this is a movie about when Superman was young? I'm not sure exactly what the plot is but it looks interesting.

Henry Cavill is a far better fit, and a better actor. Tom Welling could do 'Smallville: The Movie', that went straight to dvd though

It's a reboot, an origins story. It'll follow his life from when he got sent from Krypton to Earth by his parents, and the Kryptonian soldiers that hunt him down. In this 'world', every person on Krypton was engineered to be a Soldier, a Scientist, or a Worker. Kal-El (Superman/Clark Kent) was born which is highly illegal. General Zod vows 'I will find him' to Jor-El (Supes biological father) and threatens to destroy the world if they do not give up their savior.

We'll see him struggle with his powers on Earth, become isolated and come into his own, then become the legend.

It really does look and sound like they've made a fantastic Superman film finally.

I'll never trust a trailer again after the new Evil Dead.

My only issue was them using Howard Shore's music from LOTR on one of the trailers. That will forever be linked to The Bridge Of Khazadum. Fly you fools... What a scene...makes me shed a tear sometimes.

Christopher Reeve (RIP) will always be one of the originals. However I will say the look of this new installment/reboot looks appealing with the exception of General Zod played by Boardwalk Empire's agent. Who's replacing Margot Kidder...she played her role pretty well.

If this new reboot does well they need to eventually have Doomsday. That shook the entire comic world. Crazy shiet!

Marcus Aurelius: Tell me again, Maximus, why are we here?
Maximus: For the glory of the Empire, sire.

Baked, not fried... the healthy choice.

I'm so sick of Nolan's cookie cuter approach to films. """Ooo dark and gritty realistic, super heros are just people" it isn't superman. I'm a diehard superman fan and I refuse to go see this.

I get a little aprehensive with some of these "new versions" or "different approaches" about old classics, but it's good to see another Superman movie coming up.

Nothing will ever beat the first Christopher Reeve's Superman, The Movie. One of the best movies among all movies of all times.

I've seen all the same trailers everyone else has and it has left me with a question. Why is anybody still interested in seeing this?
