British Newspaper Mistakes Deus Ex For Real Life

Maybe one day, we'll all have cybernetic eyeball implants that will grant us perfect 20/20 vision and allow us to be monitored by the government agency of our choice. Sadly, as The Sun's editors will probably find out soon, today is not that day.

Sarif Industries, the "US firm" mentioned in this recent edition of the British tabloid, is actually a fictional company in the video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. That sweet cyborg eyeball image? Also from the video game. At least Rob Spence and Carol Kasyjanski are real.

Granted, the folks behind The Sun don't really care that much about nonsense like "accuracy" or "making sure the news they report isn't actually from a video game." And yes, perhaps eyeball implants will indeed be common in 50 years. But they probably won't come from Sarif Industries.

That's the media for you.

People get away with some good pranks out here in the news. A buddy of mine produces the local news in fresno, his show got hit with this birthday wish last year. Who screens this stuff? It's even the troll face meme kid.

None will ever beat the SF Plane crash crew names though.

The Sun is an absolute joke. Not one person with an ounce of intelligence in the UK reads it. Unless they're looking for titties on page 3.

Lol, its the most popular newspaper in the UK, not saying much for the average UK intelligence are you?

But yeah, it is a joke, full of lies and sensationalism.

I personally give up reading papers years ago... they all have their own agenda and only report on their own interests (funny how no major papers reported on SOPA despite it being headline worthy).
