Thor: Dark World

Finally watched it last night. So much better than the previous, much better special effects, action scenes, visuals and plot. Really loved it and can't wait to see where it goes now. Natalie Portman proved to be the most gorgeous woman to walk on the face of this earth as well.

How'd you like it?

I don't like many of these Marvel movies but the both Thor movies have been noticeably better then the Avengers and other Avenger movies. I think it's the cast. They hired good actors for Thor and they are acting, good. Hiddleston, Hopkins, Portman and Hemsworth were all well cast for these roles. I think having the freedom of Asgard and the other realms as a setting as opposed to being limited to Earth really gives the movie a higher ceiling on the story front as well, fantasy and syfy are a lot more interesting in these types of stories then being grounded by or a setting of reality.

Really enjoyed it. Better than the first which I also liked. Like GDP said, just a great cast doing great work. Every actor fits their role so well. Haven't watched it since the cinema however, and will have to watch it again soon.

Was my second favourite superhero film of 2013, behind Man of Steel (yeah yeah **** off, I loved it).

If you're a fan of Natalie Portman check her out in "Closer."
Captivating performance.

I liked the general tone for MOS but it missed something. It's like it was leading up to something and before you could realize, it was all over and credits rolled. Are you looking forward to the sequel?

Nope not really. I thought Cavill did well and deserved his own sequel. We've just had a Batman trilogy, all I wanted was a true Superman sequel but oh well. Hate the casting as well. Hope it proves me wrong though.

I just hope the main emphasis is still on Superman with Bats being more of a guest role but that's likely not going to happen.

DC are either going to blow us all away...OR...(and I fear this is the other option) rush into a Justice League film without setting up the heroes with their own films, because what Marvel is doing with the Avengers is blowing them out of the water right now.

Batman is riding off of popularity of the Nolan trilogy, DC are trying to throw Batman at a sequel to try and raise it's box office profits rather then concentrating on developing a universe and letting a JLA film come in it's own time.

I can't stress how much I hope I'm wrong however :D

I'd have LOVED a Batman cameo at the END of the sequel, setting up Superman vs Batman OR a World's Finest film. Give Flash his own film, give Wonder Women her own, and give Aquaman his own. Reboot Green Lantern if possible.

Rauno 02-19-2014 04:36 PM

Definitely the other option sadly. Batman is being thrown into the Superman movie without a background whatsoever as well as wonder woman. Justice League is expected to arrive in 2017 so there's no way they can do much in the meanwhile.

Also who knew Cavill was dating Gina Carano.. :dunno:
