Movie review thread

I've been watching loads of movies recently and I do believe I have a good taste. Probably. Anyway, what I thought I'd do is share my view on some movies even though nobody has asked me to. And I implore you all to do the same! To begin with I'll give my opinion on a recent film ive seen then, I'll do the same with a movie that I believe is a classic. Ill keep it brief as I don't want to bore anyone. Anyone else wants to do the same, crack on. If not, sit back and marvel at my whimsical musings.

Trance. 2013.
Dir Danny Boyle

I watched this movie last night. It started out like any basic crime thriller. James McAvoy plays Simon, an art dealer who plans an inside job with some dodgy criminal types to belp pay off gambling debts. Of course the plan goes awry. McAvoy can't remember where he stashed the stolen painting so the crims torture him a little to make him recall. When that doesn't work they employ a hypnotist (Rosario Dawson) to help him remember the whereabouts
of said painting. Cue a whole lot of confusing mess where it leaves the viewer wondering whether we are in a dream, James McAvoys subconscious, or indeed actual reality. Its alot to get your head around and you will have to pay attention. However, the resulting twist explains all and leaves the viewer
relatively satisfied. Not as satisfying as seeing Rosario Dawson naked. Full frontal. Twice.

The movie is a fairly decent idea. The plot is on the verge of being a complete
confusing mess but is saved by the trippy visuals and fine performances from
James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel (who plays the main gangster dude) and most notably Rosario Dawson. This is obviously not Danny Boyles best film. Not by a long chalk. However, would I recommend it? Yeah, if you fancy watching a movie thats a little different and theres not much on the TV.

My rating would be 72%

I'll do my other review of a classic movie later.
