It's stupid putting them on the games, it just doesn't make sense. Josh Barnett fought in K-1 only once but it was smart to put him on the games because he will sell copies. You need to have fighters people know and like, otherwise there is no point.
Actually, it makes perfect sense since they aren't going to release a North American version of the game. It's just a simple reflection of their market.

I'm not a big fan of the K-1 World Grand Prix or Dynamite!! games. Their game engines aren't very good. But, I'm not all that suprised seeing as the K-1 license is no longer handled by Konami, but is instead being done by the publishers of the "Simple 2000..." line of games. All of them done by small teams only to be released at budget prices.

It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree... As long as I don't bore you and I spark a moment of thought, my goal is achieved.

There is a K-1 Max game.

Well that is a good point. But as a K-1 fan for a K-1 game, I would rather have Akiyama and Sakuraba than Nakamura and Nakanishi. I have the Japanese Pro-Wrestling games to play as those guys, I don't need them on the K-1 games. But what I want and what the people in Japan want is entirely different. I don't know if they would pick the pro wrestlers over the fighters or not.

No, it's for PS2. This is the first K-1 game for DS. There were a couple of K-1 games on GBA but they were cartoony.

Yeah, I realize that.

The last K-1 game they made, just by looking at clips I can tell it's improved. So the gameplay looks to have improved, looks like there is more fighters than usual, the graphics have improved, looks like there is lots more different attacks and combos, plus there is create a fighter. If K-1 World Grand Prix for DS is there one and only game for this year, I would like to get K-1 Grand Prix 2006. If there is a K-1 Grand Prix 2007, I think it would be an even bigger improvement and I would like to buy it. Everything they improved upon in the previous game, they could more likely than not improve again.

Watching the DS gameplay video, it doesn't look like the game has a lot of combos - Unless the person playing doesn't know how to do combos, I don't know.

Edit: Found the official site

K-1 WOLRD GP Ή҈琬v

Looks like there is some stupid story mode that brings the touch screen into play.
