Anybody going to buy one? The price dropped by $70 in Japan and should drop in the US, in about a month or so.

I would buy one for one reason, Metal Gear Solid 4.

Playstation is my favourite game console, PS2 was awesome too, the only thing I disliked about Sony console was the PSP. But everything else is cool, I hope this is better than the 360.

I'm with you, although the 360 is a good machine. I know the PS3 will be better.

The only thing other than the price that is keeping me at bay with the PS3 is how Sony plans on handling its copyright protection for Blu-Ray. After the Sony BMG set of class-action lawsuits (which have suprisingly not hit mainstream media as much as it should) wrap up, it is going to be very interesting to see how Blu-Ray will do as a media.

Regardless, I don't by any system during the first year it is out. During the first year alone usually 2 or 3 hardware revisions occur, and it is usually the most perilous time when console "horror stories" come to the surface. I'm as big a gamer as your next guy (probably even more so), but the idea of spending money to take part of mass hardware testing for any company doesn't appeal to me.

I refuse to pay $600 to play videogames, Im too happy with my 360 right now.

My personal opinion is that the PS3 is gonna tank, too many PS3 exclusive games are jumping ship to go multi-console. thye are losing their edge.

This is the exact reason I waited to get my 360, no problems....yet
