Any Mortal Kombat Fans Out There?

If so, you'd be interested to know what is going to happen with MK8, which is to be released late this year.

I think it's a stupid idea and like the past 3 disappointing MK games, I think this one is going to put bury the franchise for me once and for all.

I might sound like a little pansy who just scraped his knee right about now, but Mortal Kombat was apart of my life since I was just a little boy, and to see it come down to this is painful to see.

They are actually going to cross promote it with DC Comics and take out blood, gore and fatalities and slap it with a Teen rating.

thats moronic, the gore is the very reason why the series got so popular in the first place, and fatalities are pretty much the trademark of the series, it'd be like taking the soul edge sword out of soul calibur.

i've not liked mortal kombat games since the playstation generation, but i still love me some mortal kombat 2/3. the cpu was just brutal back then, it's like they knew your every move.

Damn dude, dont even get me started on the MKII CPU for the PS3 because they must have revamped the intelligence for that game by a thousand because it is wicked hard.

Because of this news of the next game coming out, I have learned to really appreciate the Mortal Kombat games I have even more.

This reminds me of the King Of The Hill episode where the guys are trying to look after that football field afterhours because the groundskeeper is getting too old to do it himself and when he actually catches on, he screws it up in the end. This is what Ed Boon is doing to Mortal Kombat, he is killing it and he doesn't even realize it.

Ah well, least I'll always have MKII. (Y)

I liked deadly alliance and deception, even armageddon (create your own char was a shitty idea, sure i like the one i made and i kick alot of ass with him, but still it was a bad idea)

deception was cool because of shujinko, was able to get 60-70% combos with him, it was awesome mix and matching bicycle kick, ermacs telekenisis slam, sub zeros ice ball, scorpions rope.

I've liked all the MK games but only because I play with all my friends and we learned to like them. Armaggedon is fun, we create characters and fight it out. Playing the game alone sucks and so does the adventure concept.

MKII is the best of all the MK games. I'm looking forward to MK vs DC, Batman for the win.

I stand by my word that any MK game to come out after Mortal Kombat Trilogy is complete shit. Ever since they started going all 3D, shit went downhill. I don't care what you say.

Terry77 04-23-2008 12:38 PM

Agreed. I have Mortal Kombat Triology for both Playstation and the N64, most awesome.

Mortal Kombat vs DC is just retarded. I prefer Marvel so much more, and there are loads of better characters. MORTAL KOMBAT vs Superman, Batman...and....Wonder Women? At the end of the day I want: Marvel vs DC and Street Fighter vs Mortal Kombat.

Besides the fact Marvel and Capcom did this years ago. On IGN, Ed Boon said there would be no fatalities, but rather "finishers"
