I'll definitely check it out once I'm done this one.

Time to dust this bad boy off again.

A few days ago I finished up the 6th book in The Wheel of Time series and have started the 7th. If you like fantasy Lord of the Rings styled book series you should really check this series out. The books are long close to 1,000 pages per and the plot is pretty deep and involved with many characters and differing plot lines but it's well worth it. The series has 11 books written and the series was supposed to conclude with a 12th book but the author Robert Jordan died before completing it. But another author has taken what had been written along with extensive notes left behind by Jordan and the series(it was just announced by Tor books recently) will finally have it's final chapters written. The last book will be divided up into 3 books and over a span of 2 years they will be released starting on Nov. 9th this fall.

Tor was and still may be the publisher of many of Ramsey Campbell's books, I've read nearly all of them and they are scary as f*ck. He's one of those totally normal looking guys like Thomas Harris who can think up some seriously twisted shiz.

Hey DarkWraith have you read Harry Turtledove's The Guns of the South? It's an alternate history book on the Civil War and if the South had AK-47s- it's a pretty interesting read.

Yeah, I picked that book up when I was touring Gettysburg. That was the one that got me into his books. A more interesting read about an alternative ending to the Civil War is his Southern Victory series starting with How Few Remain. That line actually encompasses 11 books. Good series if you are a fan of that type of fiction like I am. He also has the Worldwar series and the Colonization series about aliens landing during WWII and taking over the planet.

He is a favorite author of mine in case you haven't noticed

Currently reading The Naked God by Philip Hamilton. Third in the Night's Dawn trilogy. If you like in depth Sci-fi you should look it up. Each book is about 2000 pages long and at this point I just want to finish it. However at the same time I am enoying it and want it to go and on as I have no idea what I will read next.

yes. And I'm resurrecting this thread.

Just started 13 Bullets the other day. It's a pretty sweet vampire story. It takes place as though vampires were a problem back in the day, but they were all hunted down in the late 1980's. But they returned or something...

pretty cool so far. Kind of movie-ish. I bet it's already being made.
