Yeah George has absolutly no fear of destroying loved characters. Lucky there is so many! Haha. So so so well written.

Amazon.co.uk had the next book coming out October 28th 2009, I'd had it pre-ordered for months and couldn't wait for it to come, they emailed me on the 28th saying it had been delayed a year.

It was a sad day

I really hope the TV series is as brutal as the books are, and the Direwolves are CGI'd when they start to get massive.

Max Stirner, "The Ego and His Own",
-Max Stirner was college chums with Engels and other social utopian dudes, his book lampoons most humanist/religious dogma and prompted Engels and Marx to write nearly 500 pages criticizing it. More pages than the book itself.

Nietzsche, "The Will to Power"
-last scrapings of Nietzsche's thought before he went crazy
-I usually get my books from the library and I've had to check this one out 3 times, just chalk full of shit

Went to Barnes and Noble today to get a book, ended up picking up the entire Divine Comedy for $20. Awesome.

EDIT: And since I haven't said anything about it in this thread, but am honor bound to do so because it seriously changed my out look on literature and the art form of it:

Everyone go read House of Leavesby Mark Z. Danielewski. It's honestly the best book I've ever read (about 20 times) and the only book I'd ever consider re-reading. Amazing book and an amazing taste on the form of literature as a whole.

Amazon Link: http://www.amazon.com/House-Leaves-M.../dp/0375703764

there's a link there to read the front flap of the book (synopsis) and the first few pages.

The Divine Comedy is fantastic. I read it after I graduated High School and went on a quest to read all of the classics that you are "supposed" to read.

The Divine Comedy, the Inferno in particular, and The Jungle by Sinclair were fantastic.

Also, to anyone that plays video games, there is a Dante's Inferno video game coming out in Feb that is like God of War.. only about Dante. The demo was sweet.

Rereading Choke and Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk. IDK why, but I prefer Choke. I found it in the car and I brought it inside, and couldn't put it down, having forgotten where I left off.

It looked like some of the format within House of Leaves would be distracting. I assume the story makes it worth it.

Palahniuk is one of my favorite authors. I personally liked Survivor better than choke, but choke was great too. Did you see the movie of Choke that came out recently? It wasn't too bad.

Lullaby was pretty damn good, as was invisible monsters and fight club. Hell, I just named over half of his library, so just read them all

There was a movie of Choke?? How did I miss that?

Oh, I do plan on reading them all, without a doubt.
