It makes my head hurt just a little, in a good way, like working toward muscle failure in an effort to make that muscle stronger.

I just read a newish Stephen King book of short stories, like the Different Seasons format, 370+ pages in about 3 1/2 hours. However, I read fiction differently than something like the other book I mentioned; I treat that as a text and reread, highlight and annotate accordingly.

Despite the beautiful Joyce prose, Dubliners depressed the shit out of me. Moving on to reread The Tempest, because my dad was the best damn Caliban Keel ever saw.

The Wheel of Time has one more book coming out to finish the series. It's been a little disappointing.

If you haven't already you must read Steven Erikson's Malazan: Book Of the Fallen series- it's a fantastic series and one I think you'd really like.

Yeah, that last book in The Wheel Of Time series has been teasing me for way too long.

I haven't read the Malazan series but I'll have to get it if you recommend it. Can I find it at Barnes & Noble or one of the big bookstores like that? Or is it a Amazon used book type?

Man I finally got to A Game of Thrones and it's freaking amazing. I'm about to finish it and plow right into the second one. I really wish I got to this sooner- great great stuff.

Just finished the sixth book in the dark tower, gotta say, this one was a huge let down. It kind of makes me not want to read the final one, but I feel obligated at this point.

I absolutely understand what you are saying. The only problem is that it takes GRRM 4-6 years to write each book... so if I had gotten into them sooner, I'm just be waiting more .

I'm excited for you for what you still have to read, especially the second book.

Once I'm done with A Dance with Dragons, I'm going to read Ghost Stories, the most recent Dresden book.

Then, my mom has been begging for me to read some book series called "conversations with God." No matter how many times I tell her that I'm an atheist, she still doesn't get it. "I just know you'll love this book, it reminds me of you." No... it sounds like a book based on a character I don't believe in, and it reminds you that you don't like the fact that I'm an atheist. Whatever, I'll deal with the pain.
