First Law. I've read neither, it own First Law based on a friends recommendation. Will be reading it soon. Gone back to House of Hades as I wanted an easy read while I'm away. Will be putting it down , picking it back up again a lot and the books are easy to follow being written for a younger audience.

Started The Blade Itself, got about 50 pages in then stopped as new books came in. It's a good book so far, nothing really wrong with it, I'm just looking for something a bit faster/easier to wrap up at the moment. Definitely coming back to it.

I was given The Giver Quartet, I never read The Giver or any of the 3 companion books so that was a nice thing to get. I read the Giver, it was alright but highly overrated. I've heard about how much of a classic it is and honestly... it was alright. Fun read I suppose, I enjoyed it, but it honestly really wasn't all that great. I will be reading the companion books at some point though.

I want to re-read The Name of the Wind/The Wise Man's Fear before The Slow Regard for Silent Things comes out, but I will do that as it gets closer to release.

Finished The Giver Quartet, all 4 books were solid but my favorite was Gathering Blue (second book). it had the best characters in my opinion and was the more emotional of the 4.

I just ordered Lockwood & Co.: The Screaming Staircase by Johnathan Stroud. I loved his Bartimaeus books, he has great humor in his writing and from what people say this series is no exception.

The only book I have on my backlog right now is The Blade Itself, but I'm going to keep that book for a rainy day.

Locke and Key. Just finished the 4th book and have to say it is easily one of, if not my absolute favourite story from a graphic novel, ever. M.C, check it out. It's a horror story about the Locke family who live at Key house. Lots of lore, a deep story and characters you actually care for. Bode is easily my favourite child character for a long long while. It's quiet chilling in parts and the layout is done so perfectly it creates tension before turning a page. Art is cartoony, but really works. The writer is Stephen King's son Joe Hill and he is absolutely flawless in this. Have volumes 5 and 6 on the way to complete my hardcover volumes and end the series. Cannot wait or praise it high enough.

Hmm, I'm not sure if I could get into graphic novels or not. I worry that drawings might take away from the imagination.

I have 2 books to read - Blood of Olympus (final book in the Heroes of Olympus books) and The Slow Regard of Silent Things (not out yet but soon). By the time I get around to reading through Blood of Olympus, Silent Things should be out.

Finished Blood of Olympus a few days ago. Enjoyed it but anti climactic last quarter imo. First 3/4s were much better. Aimed at such a young audience they're surprisingly good. Loved the series and looking forward to Riordan's norse god series next year.

Reading Heir of Fire now. Liked the first 2 books so just carrying on the series.
