Yeah I figured out. The shot that was killing me was hitting me 2 times. So I switched to the healing battle type and then I snuck a potion between the two attacks.

I've been using Lightning, Sazh, and Vanille now for awhile... Im really liking this party instead of using Lightning Hope and Fang like suggested, at least until Hope gains the haste ability... its so helpful in some of the harder battles.

I finally can beat long gui's and sholong gui's ..honestly though I think sholong gui's are harder, I can beat both with out ding 90% of the time but the sholong gui's is much more of a intense battle

100% Agreed. Long Guis take longer (lol) but it's a more steady battle with no real surprises.

Shao Longs can obliterate your party if you make one mistake. Like miss timing to Tortoise when he uses Bay (urgh, need to be quick) or selecting the wrong paradigms.

I finished the Mission that allows you to ride chocobos! yay!! they are fun. and while i was heading towards a mark for a mission i unleashed the Cactuars! i was afraid of fighting one at first, but man they are easy. and worth an awesome 5k CP....

Now I have a question, Can I skip right to Mission 55? if i can find the Cieth Stone?

To Unlock the ceith stone for 55, you need to defeat Bathandelus in Oerba and complete mission 14.

The ceith stone for 55 on top of the school in Oerba.

Hmm, so I can go there and continue the story and then continue doing whatever I want basically? or will i have to wait until after I beat the game and go back.

I'd advise on doing it after you beat the main story. Mission 55 is hard even for an advanced party unless you use the Death method, which I doubt you'll have got for Vanille yet.
