Final Fantasy 13

ok I usually cant stand the turn based Rpg's so i tend to stay away from final fantasy games but i took a chance with this one (sense my friends would not shut up about it)

beginning 3 hours of the game are very boring and i mean mind numbingly so but after that this game gets addicting.

The graphics are so good in this game i cant even compare them with another game closes thing i can compare it to is like watching a movie like avatar and being able to control the main people.

the turn based fighting has been changed up enough that it really is not even turn based anymore. which is a good thing IMO

story line is pretty good so far on some characters and kinda lacking on others but i hear that it gets better so im kinda excited about that. im a half way through it with 20 hours in (maybe a little less then half way done) Im a really slow rpg player though and i level grind allot.

for those that play it what do you think of it

the story is good except the corny romance stuff but FF always has that. graphics are pretty good.

its really just a long ass tutorial until you get to Gran Pulse and get to play for yourself.

figuring out the weapon upgrade system is difficult and the weapons are all the same level and serve different purposes so you need to have different "gear" settings kinda like WOW. an attack setup, defense setup, magic setup etc

its a good game but i like multi player games so much better tbh

M_D, I just finished the main storyline in ff13, and I have to say that this game is just friggin' fantastic. It took me 10 hours of getting my ass handed to me by the last boss before I could beat it, then that followed by the damn best ending I've ever seen.

I always hated easy last bosses in rpgs, this one does not have that. As far as the graphics and presentation go in this game, I have never seen anything like it. The facial expressions are so believable, they make identifying with the characters and the story so easy.

I am angry with myself for even entertaining the idea of not playing this game. I let initial reports of linearity and various other complaints affect my judgment. This is without a doubt one of the best, if not the best, fantasy style of game I have ever played.

I need to get this game I have always loved Final Fantasy games. I never minded the turn based fighting but I can definitely understand why some people dislike it.

I'm about 37 ish hours in, back on Cocoon. I'm a huge FF fan and after X-2 and XII as very skeptical about this game, the battle system in trailers looked like you had to be on crack just to keep up.

Everything about this game works. The characters (except angsty Hope) are awesome, the graphics are the best I've ever seen in ANY game and the story line is brilliant.

Some of the bosses are pretty tough and I just faced the last boss on Gran Pulse and was surprised how tough a mid game FF boss was (got him on the 2nd try but still, daaamnnnnn)

The game is linear, but most FF's are. I think the game could of benefitted from a world map, and towns/outposts but other than that....

I bought MAG, BFBC2, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain and FFXIII all within 2 weeks of each other as I sold alot of old games. I shouldn't of bothered as NONE of the others are getting any play time.

The weapon system is like a mini game in itself, it's quite fun. However the higher the level weapons you have, the lower time limit you have to get 5 golden stars in battles so I'm leaving it alone until I get near the Ultimate weapons (or equivilant)

For anyone on PSN add me if ya fancy - KryBoyo

um that i did not know, thanks for the heads up

the way I play rpg's I seriously leave grind 90% of the time and play 10%, just the way I liked to play I guess so I have mostly maxed out weapons and I just barely got snow and hope together on a team.

the graphics are stunning and I recommend this game, but like I said in the first post the first few hours are boring but bare with them.

In alot of reviews the first 20-25 hours are considered boring and linear. So you're in for a treat M_D

Pretty sweet game from what I've seen thus far. Few games touch it in terms of graphics. They need to step it up a few notches with their story telling though. The series will continue to fall on its face when compared to other rpg's that offer much more replay value and a more dynamic plot. Still a sweet game though. I won't be buying it however, because my TV just can't display the beauty that is FF13. Good thing my buddy down the street likes flushing his money down the toilet on electronics.
