Red Dead Redemption Review

Emericanaddict 05-24-2010 11:57 AM

Been playing this all weekend and the game is badass. One of the best games of the year for sure in my oppinion. Not even gonna bother watching that review simply cause I know firsthand this game is worth every single penny.

Havent done multplayer yet but i cant wait to try that out after i finish the singleplayer. This game oust's GTA in everyway as far as im concerned, even though there really shouldnt be any direct comparison.

multiplayer is fun, I can't wait till i can get one of the sniper rifles so i can just pick random people off at will... the best part is when some random other guy is charging at you on his horse, and you blow the horse away with a shotgun and he goes flying...

The first Red Dead is one of my favorites so I think Redemption will be the game that makes me buy the PS3. Is there much difference in the PS3's? It seems like they have three different versions.

Emericanaddict 05-25-2010 04:20 PM

Aparently there is pretty big differences in the versions. I wanted to get this on the PS3 but the comparison on neogaf forums said the frame rate was shot to hell on the PS3 and you could see in the pictures that the graphical fidelity was obviously bette ron the 360 which was sporting better specular lighting, shadowing, texturing as well as anti aliasing. There also seemed to be less going on ,on screen at any time on the PS3.

I own both systems and really need to fill out ym PS3 collection but this really put me off so i just rented it on the 360 and it's still buggy as anything but graphically it's way more sound.

Both versions are buggy as hell though and have freezing issues. But the frame rate was the killer issue with me. I want my game running as smooth as possible and I can notice the slowdown quite often on the 360 so if it's worse on the PS3 as the comparison said then i would avoid if possible.

The game should still be great no matter what. I have PS3 friends who are loving it and unless you play the 360 version first you wont be able to tell the difference but yeah.

I don't own the 360 so no danger of seeing it on there first. The game looks awesome and I can only hope I enjoy it as much on the ps3 as I did with the old one. Thanks for the review:thumb02:

You should be fine on the PS3 I would think. I cant imagine Rockstar letting the PS3 version be rubbish when they used to be primarily Sony developers. Im sure it's gonna be a great game for you no matter what homie!

I sure hope so. I've never spent this much money on a gaming system and pretty much just for Red dead. It's supposed to arrive at my work today by 4:30 so I'm of course stoked:)

Thats awesome dude I recomend you grab a copy of both Uncharted 1 and 2 when you get the chance aswell. Easily two of the best games ive ever played. Also grab Borderlands when you get the chance that game NEVER gets old.

In other news i just finished Red Dead and it wrapped up nicely imo and ive still got TONS to do outside the main story. Can't wait to jump into multiplayer once they get the connectivity issues ironed out.

Been playing Red Dead the last couple nights and I gotta say, it's awesome. I also got the first UFC game and I would have never thought knocking out Matt Serra over and over could be so much fun:thumbsup:

I will definitely be trying the borderlands game too. My friend has a copy that I'll borrow this weekend. He loves it.
