The books are probably the biggest in scale, most F'd up in every single imagineable way, NO character is safe books Fantasy books I've ever read. Neither are there 'good guys' and 'bad guys'.
Although the Starks are more protaganist than the other houses and players.
If they make this series true to the book, it could beat Spartacus/Dexter/Lost anything in my opinion, it has that much potential.

I hope this doesn't turn out to be another series that's successful and needs to find a lame way to just go on and on while slowly getting more and more repetitive so it's getting frustrating to watch because you know it will just keep going on and on and on... until everyone is finally sick and tired of it and they have hundreds of little plot holes that just don't make sense so they come up with this little idea that it was all just a dream of a dead guy.
But yeah, I'll probably give it a shot.

It won't, due to the fact it's based on a hugely successful Fantasy book series. Which will be done in 7 books. The story is huge, and certainly doesn't go on for the sake of it Also the author has a huge say in what goes on with this adaption, and I doubt they'd let them do much that goes against the plot.

I hope the author kicks the producer's butt then, because if it's successful you better be ready for some filler episodes that have nothing to do with the actual storyline of the book. WAR WHOEVER WROTE THE BOOK!!!
... oh crap... I just realized this is A Song of Ice and Fire... OH CRAP

I meant that in a totally positive way. I have the first two books which is the first book divided in two parts here in Germany. I didn't realize it at first because the German name is nothing like the English name.
