What's the reasoning behind not having excellent graphics? None that really hold water. If you put out a game that has awesome game mechanics but poor graphics what does it really say about your product, you don't mind putting out a product that's less than it could be? Not really. The most popular game in the world right now - League of Legends - has some of the worst graphics of this generation.

I'd rather a developer focus on game play over graphics. Shipping out a game with good mechanics but poor graphics says how much the developer cares about the actual gameplay and longevity of the game, rather than the cosmetic novelty which will wear off after around 2 hours play time.

Graphics are a important part of gameplay.

What do you mean by "worst graphics"?

Take World of Warcraft and Skyrim for instance. 1 game has graphics that are geared towards realism (skyrim) and 1 game has graphics that are cartoonish (wow), however it's much easier to walk by an item that you should have picked up in Skyrim than it is in World of Warcraft so what defines better graphics? In reality graphics are part of game mechanics and realism is a type of graphics whether one is better than the other depends on what you're asking from the game design.

In this day and age there is no reason a game can't have sharp graphics and solid mechanics because both have a equal part in making a game fun to play.

I Am Alive, the survivar horror game is coming to PC tomorrow. Definitely be picking that up.

Yeah, well, I just think it doesn't have the charm of HL1. Not even close. Playing with the physics of the game is exponentially more fun than the game itself.

It doesn't have anything to do with the graphics, some games appeal more to others. In fact, it sounds like most of your issues are first person games, "Cry" games, Bioshock, Half-Life 2 - maybe you are sick of FPS games in general. I personally don't like them anymore, the only FPS I plan to get into next is Half-Life 3 whenever that comes out.

As for what I'm playing, I ordered Rapala Pro Fishing 2010 like 5 days ago and it left Phoenix and has reached Union City 2 days back, it's taking forever, I'm hoping an update shows up later today saying it's here or in Eureka, which means it'll be here tomorrow.
