Wow.. this discussion has went alot further then i thought it would go lol.
Let me make it simple on my part.
I dont dislike Graphics. Just IN MY OPINION alot of the games that try to have the best graphics tend to mess up on gameplay. And they try so hard to make the game look life like that it actually ends up looking awkward and cheesy. Iv played so many MMOs and the best ones are always the one with average graphics. The one that go for those superb graphics tend to be average at every other aspect.
Some of the best OVERALL games imo are still on the ps1. There is some amazing games on the browser i like. I love star craft 1 and 2. One of the better MMOs imo are MMOs like "Runes of Magic" or "Monster and Me". I think MapleStory is an awesome game. I think League of Legends is awesome.
So simply put
Graphics dont harm a game but the games with amazing graphics tend to lack gameplay IN MY OPINION.
This discussion is absolutely opinion based.
Hell i consider Tetris to be in my top 10 favorite games out there.
Take World of Warcraft and Skyrim for instance. 1 game has graphics that are geared towards realism (skyrim) and 1 game has graphics that are cartoonish (wow), however it's much easier to walk by an item that you should have picked up in Skyrim than it is in World of Warcraft so what defines better graphics? In reality graphics are part of game mechanics and realism is a type of graphics whether one is better than the other depends on what you're asking from the game design.
In this day and age there is no reason a game can't have sharp graphics and solid mechanics because both have a equal part in making a game fun to play.
Graphics are really not an important part of game play, especially not when it comes to high level competitive games such as Quake, Starcraft, Counter Strike etc Graphics are irrelevant to such games. What's most important in games like those is balance.
I haven't ever played WoW, so can't really comment, but Lol's graphics are just flat out terrible. The textures, models, lighting, every thing is like last generation, hell maybe two generations out dated.
And yea, to the other poster, I agree, LoL is garbage and I can't stand it. I've really no idea how it's become such a popular game.
I'm a die hard fps fan for life. Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike>>>>>>>>>>>>>>all.
Speaking of counter strike, any one got Counter Strike: GO?
I couldn't careless about the mod that is being released by some other company. I just want Half Life 3 to come out. What the hell is taking Valve so long? Are they making another lousy Duke Nukem game or what?

? Valve didn't make Duke Nukem, lol. Gearbox finished it up (although I suppose the confusion is understandable as Gearbox has worked on many projects with Valve).
Anyway Valve has always been a very "it's done when it's done" type company which I think is a good thing. Nothing worse than a great concept ruined by a deadline.

Maybe there's new footage out there I haven't seen, the last batch of footage I saw was like 3-4 years ago.
Sorry, missed this earlier. Yeah, the overall feel of the game will be the same and it certainly retains the look, but I've read in interviews that they will be changing stuff, not limited to the things I mentioned. I'll try to track down some of them for you.

Wow has absolutely horrible graphics by today's standards and is widely believed to be the best MMO made.

MMO's aren't dependent upon graphics, really. Their hook is the grind, the game's mechanics, and the social aspects. Hell, the direct ancestors of MMO's, MUDs, had no graphics at all and people still play them today.
FPS on the other hand are completely the reverse, an FPS with bad graphics better have something else pretty awesome going for it. Not just FPS either. third person shooters, third person action, same deal. For some genres (and especially for single-player games) it's an accepted part of making a successful title.
Also, I'd like to draw a distinction here between "realistic graphics" and "good graphics". They aren't the same. Stylization is a conscious decision of art direction in a game, lots of games *could* have much more "realistic" graphics but go with another look intentionally. The Walking Dead, for example, has comic book-esque graphics and that was something they did on purpose, not because they just couldn't make it look more realistic. That cel-shaded Zelda game is another example. Actually, any game with cel-shading. Borderlands. 13. Games that emulate the 8-bit look of old RPG/adventure titles...

It's for the Wii and it comes with a fishing rod peripheral. It works... exactly as it should, surprisingly. It feels comfortable and reacts on time and it's smooth.
I haven't hopped into any serious tournaments/main fishing career yet, but did the "free fishing" where you just roam and fish whatever, and it's really fun. You can open your tackle box and pick many different baits from jigs to soft plastics, to crank-baits, and switch out how heavy your line is and everything.
You earn money (I think) to buy new boats/equipment/gear as you win tournaments and complete challenges.
The game is actually really fun, for only a few bucks I'm really having fun with it.
