The character models look a lot sharper/crisp, the loading times are great (like when going into a battle it's so smooth and swift), but the backgrounds/enviornments are still pretty bad and like I said, it has that giant black bar running across the bottom of the screen that annoys the crap out of me.
Turn "keep aspect ratio" off to make it full screen.

FFVII is the shit, I've been meaning to do a 100% playthrough, and start uploading gameplays to my Youtube channel, so might give this ago.
I don't care how shit it looks, it's still the most beautiful game ever created
God that 1997 feel. If I could erase this game from my memory and play it again fresh... Then again, would it still hit me like it did in 1997? I first played this when I was 11, I now realise lol. Shit, 11!

Also, Universe Sandbox is a great program for those who are interested in physics, gravity, space, and the ability to completely customize our solar system (and whole galaxies) to see what would happen. Like, what if earth was the size of our sun? The program automatically shows what would happen with actual scientific method/physics, plus a lot more.
It's only 2 dollars on steam right now, it's very much worth it for anyone interested in that kind of thing, it's not a "game", more of a program, but you can control pretty much anything and adjust anything from size to speed to testing light speed and all kinds of stuff.

I can only notice the character models and the improved music sounds... I'm not sure if I like it lol, it doesn't have the original feel. (I spotted the 'regular graphics' option)
Mine doesn't have any big black bar running along the screen. It has two at the sides but I was expecting those anyway, playing on a HD tv.

I don't understand the mass liking for RPG'S there is no skill in them and there pretty cut and dry gameplay throughout the whole game.

There is certainly skill involved. It is more strategy driven than eye hand/reflex skills.
But more than that, people who enjoy RPG's enjoy the story and the gameplay. I am not sure why a test of skill is needed to enjoy a game.

well for story I usually go for zelda and metroid games or whatever, I though the appeal of games was for testing your skills with coordination and reflexes and puzzles and whatnot, but hey each to their own.
