I have always been a COD fan... But I am torn right now. Not sure whether I am getting MW3 or BF3.

BF3...jesus, the graphics are amazing. I don't think there's a shoot em up game that can hang with it atm, the destruction system is something else too.
@HOGH, if you like point and shoot with dated graphics get COD, if you like detail get Battlefield, is the best way I can put it.

^^^truthfully i don't really care about Bethesda's budding talent in making film shorts. In fact these kinds of trailers are my least favorite, completely misleading.

It's not misleading, though.
Dragons attacking villages (they do in the game) and one of the major aspects of the game is your character fighting them.
It's just done with real people rather than in-game footage, of which there are countless videos, so it's something new/different, as they've already shown pretty much as much as a company can show of their game pre-release.

The fact that it's real people is why I think that a) to some is it misleading. some folks are that oblivious and b) it's pointless unless one is so hungry for the game that they want to experience anything even tangentially related, which I suppose there is an audience for. I guess I read the Dead Space comics which isn't much different, but this came across as more of a commercial to me though. Like the ones they used to do for FF7 on tv that showed no actual in-engine footage.

Well, I agree that if these type of trailers is all they showed, it would be pretty ridiculous.
Up until this point, though, they have multiple in-game footage trailers, and even 40 minute demo walkthroughs of the game as well as many "hands on" videos. So, there's probably more in-game footage of Skyrim than any other pre-release game out there.
This is probably going to be the last new video footage of the game before it releases, probably meant to hype up those who are already hyped up about the game.
