Edit: for some of you that may not be aware, SW:TOR stands for Star Wars: The Old Republic. It's a new MMO Bioware is releasing.

So yeah, they haven't stated the release date yet, but have begun pre-orders at their website and video game locations (gamestop, bestbuy, ect.)

I Can't wait to play this game, there are 4 main classes on imperial and republic side all of which have 2 distinct advance classes. Each Advance Classes has 3 talent trees to customize your characters fighting style.

I think I'm going to be choosing a Sith Warrior, then Sith Juggernaut advanced class, and use the Vengence talent tree.

Anyone else really anticipating the release? I've already got my pre-order in.

I already pre-ordered and can't wait for Dec 20th. I'll be rolling either a republic trooper/commando or a Jedi Consular/Shadow.

I'll look into it. Sounds like a pretty fun game, and with Guild Wars 2 not being out until late 2012 at the earliest I could do with a nice MMO to play for a bit

I got it but quit after a couple of weeks tbh. Most of the people I know that got it ended up going back WoW or just stopping entirely. The storyline is solid and combat is fun, but endgame just doesnt compare to other games.

The most improtant thing for me is probably is the story, then comes gameplay and graphics. I'm a huge, HUGE fan of Star Wars though, i'd be more than pleased with this game.

I noticed there's a download option in the official website. Does anybody know how much game time that one has before you have to extend your subscription?

I played it to end game (level 50 at the time, not sure about now) takes about 30 hours or so to hit end-game. The story is good, it really makes you feel like a Jedi or storm trooper or whatever you want to play, but games like this are designed for "end-game". There must be a reason to continue playing (and paying the 15 dollars a month to play it), and this game has nothing like that.

i just quit this too, i think my sub is still active, but i havent logged in in probably 3-4 weeks. story is awesome! only ones i played much of were Sith Warrior, best story i think. Imperial Agent story was meh.... Warrior was much much better. Sith Inquisitor was great up until where i got too which was only like end of stage 2 i think.... i was like level 32 i think.

PVE stuff.... i cant say much, i never been much for that aspect.... hardly did any flashpoints and definatly didnt do any operations (raid), after a while i pretty much skipped the group quests since getting a group together generally took too much time and wasnt worth it to me.

PVP.... oh boy.... this they did not do very well.... lumping all levels together pre-50 was a horrible idea... yes they scaled it to try and even it out, but it still failed hard IMO.... a level 12 has a fraction of the abilities as a 48 and therefor got wasted 1v1, you could be ok if you were ranged and stayed in a group the whole time. class balance was pretty horrid too. i got tired of running into groups that were 50% or better Sith Inquisitor/Jedi Sage and just getting wrecked over and over.... even after the nerf, if you were good at those you could still do alot. after the nerf i still was tops or very close with my Sith Sorcerer in the leveling brackets in offensive categories and medals. add in that Huttball wasnt all that great, and was generally the WZ that popped up the most.....

graphics and game play are very good and fun, the game just needs work.... better balance and better things to do at endgame then tedious boring dalies and forced group quests, and it could be quite good!



im hoping PlanetSide 2 comes soon enough, cuz im done with WoW (Cata sucked ass and MoP doesnt look to remedy much), SWTOR was kinda a bust and im already losing interest in Diablo 3.....
