Finally ordered. As much as I wanted it for the PC, it's getting on a bit age wise and I doubt it would handle Skyrim in full detail, so I've often for the console version. That, and I can take my PS3 to any of the rooms with a TV in the house and I've always prefered a controller to mouse and keyboard anyways.
Would rather enjoy the game in full detail than half arsed and laggy because my PC is outdated, and atm I can't afford an upgrade.

Nord, dual wield with heavy armor for my first go around.
Magic is awesome in this game, as is archery, but with the shouts you learn as any race/class (you find out more about this early on in the main story quest) you can still use some pretty awesome spells even as full melee.
With that said, this game is so flexible.. I mean, you can use magic in one hand, sword in the other or whatever variation, so can mix it up a lot.
For those that didn't see the tooltip, Y on Xbox allows you to favorite items and spells, and when you push up on the D pad, it allows you to switch between favorites for fast item/spell management. I'm mentioning this because I saw someone online who didn't know this for like 10 hours into the game.
Also, I stated this in the other gaming thread, but the Xbox version has a glitch where if you install the game to your hard drive, the textures will downscale and not scale back up, making some of the graphics/textures look ugly and muddy. To avoid this, run the game from the disk and don't install it (and uninstall it if you did).

Have it on pc. Only thing I don't like is damaging people in fights is a bit dull. It's like hitting a rock, with no reaction until the death animation.

Welcome to the wonderfully quirky world of Bethesda games.
Its something I hate about their games, but get over it to enjoy the adventure. But god damn it, it doesn't half play like shit sometimes.

Starting to hate this game. The same old, complete a mission, and if you want to finish it, walk for 20 minutes back to the original spot. Or do other missions and forget completely about the original one, and get lost in what you're doing. When you're not running, its ok.

If you start a mission, say go to X cave and get X item, at the end of the cave, you will find a passage that leads you back to the beginning of the cave without having to travel back through the whole thing. Just look around in the last room and you'll find a gate or a hidden wall or something.
Once you're outside, fast travel (teleport) to the location of where you got the quest by clicking on the area in your map.
The only real walking in the game is exploring new locations (part of what makes the series) and you can always buy a horse to go faster.

I'm a Wood elf too. Dirty bastard who looks like shit. I try to double cross just about anybody I come across. IF somebody needs me to fetch something really important to them, I'll accept the mission, go get the item, and then sell it. If I cant sell it, I'll hoard it. I tend to go back to the person at some point, just to hear them ask excitedly "Have you found my [blah]?!", only for me to shrug my shoulders and say "naa bro" and watch them cry. Little do they know their [blah] is sitting warmly in my pouch.
As for combat? Im 100% a - hide in the shadows and stick arrows in people from long distance - kind of guy. Giggling as they scamper around looking for me.
Lawlessness rocks.
