Funny thing! When my Lydia died outside of Rifton her corpse re spawned back in my house at Windrun! Try explaining that to your new bride when you take her upstairs in her new home.

Speaking of marriage, did any of you guys marry someone let? I did and I have to say it kind of feels hollow. After you marry her the only conversation you have with her is asking if she made any money or if she can cook you dinner. I think Bethesida should have taken a page out of the Fable series and made the marriage a little more meaningful.

Any tips on some armour for an High Elf mage? Is there anyway to get some light armour (Not robes) that actually offer an armour rating, 75-100% Magicka regen and Destruction spells cost less?

Robes are boring, ugly, and offer no armour at all.

Just realised I'm not far off getting the Arch-Mage's robes and some awesome mask anyways. Will just have to work on smithing to craft a light or heavy armour set for when I feel like Battle Maging

You are an enchanter, yeah?

If you go mage, you should almost always take enchanting, so that you can wear high level light armor for defense and then enchant each piece of armor with fortify magic. So, it's like having 4 robes with your choice of enchant.

Also, if anyone didn't know, you can buy a dog at the Markrath stables, he can follow you as a companion.

I've dabbled in Enchanting. I'm around 29-33 or so in it.

Only problem with enchanting armour, is that you can only enchant it once (unless you have 100 Enchanting) and the enchants are insanely lower than robes.

Take the Arch Mage robes I just got, they have 3 enchants on them 15% reduction on all spells cast, +50 Magicka, 100% extra Magicka regeneration.

No Armour can rival that.

So far I'm casting Ironflesh and Flame Cloak on myself, charging in with a Burning Dagger and Fireball and blowing everything to hell The change to dual heals when needed and it's all dandy.

With the robes and mask, plus a few items and Resto perks I have like 300% Magicka regen.

Probably the most immersive, spectacular game I've ever played. So much better than Oblivion.

I have a dog following me, and it talks. I went on a mission in Falkreath to find a guys dogs. If you don't finish that quest, the attack dog always stays with you and is invincible since its a quest item.

You need to find the items that reduce spell cost for certain schools of magic. This gives you infinite magic for 2 whole schools.

Max your enchanting to 100 (or drink an enchanting potion to raise your enchant skill up after getting it to like level 80), then find gear that has magic school reduction, and destroy it to learn the enchantment. You can reduce magic cost for a certain school up to 25%. An example would be, -25% cost to destruction spells, so the destruction spell only costs 75% of its normal base.

What this means is, with 4 pieces of armor, you can do -25% spell cost in destruction magic on each piece, making it a 100% reduction, meaning destruction spells cost 0 to cast. With the 100 enchanting perk, you can do 2 schools of magic free of magicka cost.

That's infinite magic for 2 entire spell schools (the two you use most). This is, in my opinion, the best way to go for an efficient mage, as you get the armor bonus of the light armor (dragonscale if you level smithing, but that's your choice) and 2 entire magic schools free of magicka cost.

Great for tanking enemies (like dragons) while you hit them from afar, but that dog... he is the most co-dependent dog of all time. Outside of combat he can't bear to be more than a foot from you. In tight spaces this is so goddamn annoying. I've gotten nearly permanently stuck (aside from tcl in console) in closets, and he not only can form a barrier to block you, he can even push you around while you're trying to pick up items, or navigate a slender bridge, or are frozen talking to someone... I finally sent him away until I felt like finishing his mission, despite the advantages of an immortal dog.

Holy **** Hex, I was thinking the exact thing tonight while playing. First, he barks and wakes up people, second, I was standing on a ledge sneak bow hunting some skeletons and being the needy little asshole he is, he constantly nudged me and I fell off the cliff and couldn't aim. Then he blocked me in a narrow cave hallway, and I had to restart at a save point to keep playing..... He has saved my life a bunch, but i'm starting to think he's about to get kicked to the curb.

Why oh why is this game so quirky? Every time I'm getting immersed playing my character, something happens that blows it all and makes me want to kick my xbox.

Last night I snuck up on some Nords sitting around a fire. I worked really hard to avoid contact and get in close enough to snipe them with my arrows. The process took easily 40 minutes. I poisoned my arrow and made a little bit of noise to get the attention of one of the Nords so separate him from his friends. As he was walking back I drew and fired my arrow, and it hits a wall that isnt there. There was absolutley nothing between me and him and yet my arrow bounces off thin air 1 meter in front of me. Of course the Nord heard me, turned around and alerted all of his friends. I was pissed. My last save was 45 minutes ago. I died and had to start again. Needless to say, I wasnt willing to go through the whole stealth thing again, so I ran in there with a couple of swords and did it that way. Rubbish. Thats not how I want to play. The stealth is so shite in this game.

Im tiring of it already. For the first time since release, I'm not interested in booting the game up and playing some more. *sigh*. The quirky shit that hasnt changed a bit from Oblivion is all still there. I hate Bethesda. Arseholes.
