Honestly, unless you can find a used PS3 or X360 cheap, I wouldn't bother with the new consoles being around the corner.

It may be a year or so away, but a year or so away they're probably gonna be a ton less games coming out for the old consoles since developers will be focusing on the new consoles.

Not to mention if you buy one new right now, in a year or so you could just get the new one for like $200 more.

I'm going to have to disagree. Launch prices are always ******* stupid like $799 for the console, one controller and a shit launch game like Motorstorm. A good used console with games is like $200-$250

You can't go wrong with either one, but...

Uncharted, Killzone, Heavy Rain, SOCOM, God of War, > Left 4 Dead, Halo, and Gears of War.

If I had to pick one, it'd be the PS3.

Heavy Rain and Socom are on your exclusive list? I was a HUGE socom fan for PS2 but the ps3 ones are garbage. I really like Uncharted but Gears of War is amazing and you didn't list Fable.

Left 4 Dead is also on PC, not a 360 exclusive.

Heavy Rain is a major game that won many game of the year awards, it's a major release.

I honestly can't think of any other big series on the 360, as Mass Effect series, Fable series and Left 4 Dead series are all on PC (ME on PS3 as well), they aren't 360 exclusive games.

Don't get me wrong, Gears is going to be very fun, but I'd take 13 big name exclusives over the 4 the 360 has if I were forced to make a choice, that too given that the PS3 is a blu-ray player and has free online (not as good quality as 360, but still free works well enough).

I was just listing exclusives at random, it doesn't really mean one's better than the other but the PS3 clearly has the advantage in exclusives, I even left out Resistance which is a huge hit.

I've never played Fable either so I don't know if it's good or bad.

If a guy wants to play some games, why would you advise him to wait a solid 2 years or even more for the new consoles?

I would suggest buying the XBox 360 slim edition. Hell, you can get a new one for ~130 pounds. Granted, it's a 4gb edition, but it's not THAT bad. You won't be able to install your games in the HDD (which gives you a little extra loading speed) and obviously won't be able to download shit loads of demos, but there's enough space for you to DL one, if needed, and then delete it. For playing, 4gb is imo enough. 250gb costs like 180 pounds, which still I think is cheaper than buying a PS3 (if it matters of course). I got my 250gb edition with 2 wireless controllers and 2 games for ~200 pounds, which was a pretty damn nice price.
Like others have already mentioned, the xbox live is great too.
But I'm an xbox fan boy, so what do you expect..


P.s. offtopic, but what do you guys think, we'll be able to play our 7th gen console games with the new ones?
