Shane would also be zombie food if not for Rick If they kill that kid I'mma be mad.

1.)Zombie officers - Rick & Shane (I thought it was a pivotal moment when he stares at their dead corpse. He knew he had to go back.)

2.) Otis theme is somewhat being played out now with the new kid and Rick understands the thought process. Kill or be killed.

3.) Nature vs nurture. Andrea is like a tomboy willing to play the female rambo while the rest of the females carry on with everyday chores which is just as important; laundry, cooking, caring for the sick, etc. She allowed Maggie's lil sis to attempt suicide and let nature take it's course so to speak.

4.) Rick abruptly stops the car at an empty intersection to confront Shane, the pointedly obvious imagery tells the viewers what we already knew was coming. Shane and Rick are at a literal and figurative "crossroads."

5.) Growing chasm between leadership styles. One with pure brute force and other just as brutal only if necessary.

6.) Rick (police officer) can now be qualified as a gangster as he busts a drive by on the zombies to save his partner Shane. In a lawless society you do what you gotta do to survive.

7.) A poignant moment was after Shane threw the wrench crashing through the window and he looked at himself in the reflection. He resembled a zombie.

They need to kill the kid. If they don't...it's gonna bring more humans into the show, which it doesn't need. They barely have enough episodes to focus on the current cast...I mean where has Daryl been, some of the key people are already being left out because they have to many people to focus on. My favorite part of the first season was how it was about the group against the world.

Think so? I'm trying to count survivors and I think its about the same, maybe even fewer than at some points prior. Now the black dude and his kid are gone, quite possibly for good, the black chick stayed behind in the science facility with the scientist and is likely dead, the latino family of three or four people took off on their own, the abusing husband and his daughter are dead, Amy is dead, grave-digging guy is dead, Otis is dead, Merle is kind of around still, at least in Daryl's head for the time being. Meanwhile the only additions now are the four or five people from the farm and this questionable new guy. I think the group is actually a little smaller than the night Amy was bitten.

Daryl has been kind of just sitting around being sullen since he recovered from his wounds, which has not made for a lot of entertainment on his part. I guess to each their own, but I'm really interested to see what this new group is like, how dangerous and organized they are. I assume it will be The Governor's group and if they're anything like the comics, things are about to get kind of crazy.

Oh, Merle will be back soon Likely in the new group. Michael Rooker has been hinting at it in the media. Shane... his long-term future is hard to predict. He was dead long ago in the comic but he was also far less of a complex or important character. He was really limited to the jealous jerk elements we have seen him occasionally portray in regards to Laurie. I see him continuing to be built up as Rick's darker anti-hero counterpart, they would not have invested this much time in him just to kill him off/send him offset when following the original story it would have been a lot easier to do long ago. And seriously, isn't Laurie annoying? The scenes with Shane teaching Andrea to shoot (and her being a natural) makes me hope they will turn her into the Andrea from the comic that is kicking ass today.
