I liked the episode but honestly i only care about the Imp, calesse (no clue how to spell it) and the little stark girl, all the rest of them i care less about and unfortunately this episode did not focus on them that much

Totally agree I've read all the books but I won't post spoilers. This first episode was just a table setting for all that is to come for this season.
The 1st episode normally doesn't deliver but sets up further events. This one did and introducing Stannis as a player just leads to more storyline later.
Good stuff but can't wait for the meat of the story to be unveiled in the later episodes.

Very impressed with the season opener. Cuts right into it...no warm up...any viewer knows that each major player and "king" commands a level of respect as the war rages on.
Every episode has quotable quotes. I think this week the one that stood out was simply "power is power."

Don't watch the show then. Game of Thrones is a character based show and has outstandingly well written and interesting characters.
Tyrion
Joffrey
Littlefinger
Jaime
Varys
There are so many great characters in the show, I find it hard to believe you can only be interested in just three of them.

Hate the actor choice for Stannis. Not just looks wise, but I didn't get the 'cold' feel from him at all. The actor that plays Tywin would actually fits Stannis more for me (though also makes a great Lannister, so I'm not complaining)
Other than that, I loved the opening episode. Some brutal stuff
that I know is only going to get worse...and worse. Nice episode to set the scene for the season. The War of Five Kings has begun
And GREYWIND! Holy shit that wolf looked amazing. I really like how they've made them as big as they were in the books, a lot of fantasy 'big' wolves are normally on screen as normal sized wolves. Jamie was crapping his pants.

It was such a high impact episode that meshed well together. It's extremely challenging to develop that many characters in a single setting simultaneously showing multiple storylines all converging into one climactic moment. Each clan has their own back history and claim to the throne. Actually watched the episode again.
I think Rob Stark has really shown his qualities in this episode. I marvel how the author/writers/actors are all able to bring to life a genre that has been done many times. HBO now knows that it was a mistake to discontinue "Rome" so they came up with "The Game Of Thrones." A true masterpiece of storytelling...

Neat first episode, better than the first episode from season 1 in my opinion. The second book is so crammed with action and cool stuff it's gonna a higher paced and more dramatic season. It was good to see Stannis be introduced,
