Learning a New Grappling Art?

I've been doing Japanese Jujitsu for several years and am nearly ignorant to BJJ, Sambo and Wrestling. I want to learn a new grappling art if for no other reason than to be able to test my J3 skills against other skilled artists.

Which grappling art would be most likely to work me the hardest and provide me with the knowledge and skills to counter martial artists versed in the aforementioned skills?

I joined wrestling back in high school for the sole purpose of mma. I wanted to build a strong wrestling background and now I'm in college and my university doesn't have a wrestling team.. They have a wrestling club. I joined to continue to improve my wrestling, but the practices seemed kinda like a joke. We would warm up with a jog around the city, then do about an hour of drilling, and then goof off for the rest of practice (which is like 45 minutes).

What I'm trying to get at is I can't decide if this would be good for me or its a waste of my time. What do ya'll think?

Can you really punish your enemy with BBJ?

I see it all the time in MMA, jiujitsu guys getting smashed on there backs. Usually they seem to wait for the opportunity for a submission, but in the process they get hammered and bloodied up! Sometimes they get hammered a whole round like this, even more...

Now I don't know about you guys, but in a street fight, I dont want to give anything to my opponent. I want to make him bleed... I want to punish him. Whats the point of getting him to give up, if in the process I basically loose the damage game?... Do I really come on top?

Same goes for MMA, who gets damaged the most? Thats important.

I know that judokas and wrestlers work from the top. I beleive that this approach is much better.

BJJ moves effective on the street.

Hey guy I was just thinking about BJJ for self defense. I know its a great style but the problem is that once the teeth become a factor a large percentage of their moves go out the window. what subs do you guys know of that would be effective on the street.

the only ones I can think of right off the top of my head.

Knee bar
heel hook
rear naked choke.
maybe kamura depending on the clothes you wearing.
alligator choke (from guard your right leg across his left ear and back of head his right arm in his neck and press head down.)

what can you think of?
