Anderson Bomaye: Does Chael stand any real chance in the rematch???
Yes he is a great wrestler, but ever heard that saying 'if the stars align?' UFC 117 was that time for Chael Sonnen, he had everything going for him and only two minutes left to survive. But all Anderson needed was 8 seconds. Now Anderson really knows what to expect, and Chael v Bisbing hardly inspired confidence in Chael's talk of being the best ever.
Anderson has been champion for 6 years, he learns like a computer, and if this fight does indeed happen in Brazil...'Big Problem.'
Only two people that stand a chance is either Chael Sonnen or Rousimar Palhares. I actually would bet on palhares because i think he can take Anderson down and Anderson legs are pretty lanky.

I think it would be incredibly difficult for the fire hydrant to get Anderson down due to Andersons reach advantage and insane ability to gauge distance and put people to sleep with it. Paul Harris would have to rush him and that is a giant risk against the spider.

Ehh... Anderson take down defense is average at best imo. I dont see Palhares struggling too much to take Anderson down. If Travis Lutter can do it then palhares surely can.
I would say yes. Although Silva was injured, the TD's had very little to do with that. Watch the fight again. The way Chael grabs a hold of Silva before he even attempts to sprawl has nothing to do with a rib injury.

yes but a rib injury will effect you footwork and your footwork directly effects you TDD

Not buying it. Footwork is probably the last thing a rib injury would effect. Getting up from bottom and sprawling? Sure. Basic footwork? Not really. Even if it did slightly effect it, the east of Sonnen getting the TD tells me that it had more to do with Sonnen's great wrestling and Silva's wrestling weakness than Silva's rib.
Silva threw a lot of good stuff standing too. If he was able to throw normal kicks / elbows than he would have been able to use normal footwork at times. Yet Chael still got him down whenever he wanted.
It's not like it was the first time that Silva has shown a weakness to TD's. Lets not kid ourselves.
