Anderson Silva obviously isn't concerned about the size of Forrest Griffin. Apparently, a light heavyweight is only a light snack for "The Spider".

Yahoo News reports:

White said that Silva also expressed an interest in fighting heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, who is under contract with Affliction. White has made several attempts to sign Emelianenko, none successful.

Soares (Silva's manager) confirmed that Silva would like a fight with Emelianenko and said that size wouldn’t be an issue. Silva walks around between fights at 215 and Emelianenko fights around 230.

“We’d come in at about 220 if we ever got that fight,” Soares said. “Anderson thinks that would be a great fight for him. He didn’t say he expected to blow him out, but he thinks he can give him a very good fight.”

I love how everyone is underestimating Griffin's chances in the fight. I think Silva will be able to do enough to stop take downs and keep the fight standing, where he'll be able to either score a TKO or UD.

But really... have we forgotten that Griffin is a warrior who apparently even enjoys getting into brawls where his face eventually gets smashed in?

Silva should worry about getting through Griffin before he calls out the No. 1 HW and one of the top P4P fighters in the world IMO.

Agreed.

If Silva underestimates Forrest, that could mean some serious problems. Forrest should never be taken lightly...

...Anderson Silva granted is the best middleweight in the world, no question about that. He has only fought 1 dude at 205 and Irwin isn't even one of the sharks at 205. Until Anderson beats a few of the top dogs at 205, he still has much to prove if he wants to face the last emperor. Hell...Anderson is gonna have the BIGGEST test in his career when he faces another striker as good or better than him in Cung Le. Fedor would throw Anderson to the canvas like a ragdoll then ground & pound him to sleep.
