This forum is really going downhill...

I'm not taking shots at anyone here and this could very well be my last post beacause I could get banned for it. I have been coming here to see what everyone thinks about mma since around the anderson silva and franklin fight. Back then was the golden age here it seemed like intelligent posters, bungles crazy avatars, and every thread had an intelligent discussion with no fighting...well most of them. Lately it has been people who hardly know anything about mma wich nothing is wrong with that you have to learn somewhere, but that is not the big problem. The problem is the mods now, not all of them but some. Lately there have been so many threads with nothing but country bashing and it comes up half the time now in every discussion. The mods are not doing a thing about that and huge arguments are breaking out but nobody gets punished, at least not as soon as they should.
Also people are now getting warnings for crap that is not against the rules at all. I remember that started with Bungle. Some of the stuff he got warnings and temp bans for were against the rules but many other people would not get a warning for exactly the same stuff. Now wl2fu got a warning for telling a guy to fight somebody again...wtf. I believe he is banned now wich brings up my next point. Why is it that all of the intelligent dedicated posters seem to get a warning or a temp ban way quick when you have guys like mmabot and simon phoenix who obviously try and piss people off can do it for such a long time and nothing happens to them. I think they got a temp ban now but it took way to long. My point is if this keeps up this forum will be sherdog jr and I will probably get a ban now wich will just prove my point. Well if this is my last post, see you guys later I guess. Although nobody really new me.
Once again if I made some of you mad im sorry but I had to say it.

yeah what happened to bungle haha....?

I agree with the warning and banning situation also.

WL2FU is banned right now???

rnv18 04-25-2007 10:41 PM

Yeah, there is a lot of arguing and not as much real discussion. I find myself giving out repps to people with posts that just make sense and are somewhat interesting points.

We(moderators) cannot be everywhere at once. If you see somthing you don't like or someone breaking rules, then report the post. When you do that, it sends an email to all mods, and one of us will take care of it.

As for giving warnings for useless situations, we as mods try to follow the rules and guidlines that are set forth here:

http://www.mmaforum.com/mmaforum-gen...uncements.html

Trust me we could definatly give out more warnings if we were to follow the rules to a "T". I for one have no problem with being a Nazi Mod. I can see in your sig JawS that you are breaking one of the rules. :D

even so it is RIDICULOUS to ban a thoughtful and insightful poster like WLTFU. I have seen idiotic, back-and-forth jabs on a couple of threads, just people here and there pointlessly taking shots at each other. I got on this forum because I had a fair knowledge of martial arts and boxing thru my own training, but I wanted to learn more about mma. So far I have learned quite a bit and laughed like hell many many times (i showed my husband some of the cro cop pictures and we laughed guiltily). I'd rather not have to wade through post after post of people picking at each other, while members who contribute information that is on point and intelligent get banned for telling someone to fight someone else. It's incredibly frustrating. I'd use stronger language but I'd hate to get banned, or sent to bed without my milk, or something.

What post are you guys talking about in regards to WL2FU?

swpthleg 04-25-2007 11:24 PM

i don't know....wherever he suggested that someone fight someone they'd already fought a 2nd time or something,

I probably saw it, and continued on, because there was nothing in the post that caught my eye as being inflammatory in any way, shape, or form.

anyone who remembers more clearly than me, don't hesitate to jump in.

This place is not as bad as MMA Weekly or Sherdog.

Other than the few jackasses, I feel that this is the best MMA site around. We have a lot of great members and the site keeps growing!

the country bashing is all in good fun, dont take it to heart.
