i would understand if he was a new member but so what 1 out of his 2,000 posts was innapropriate.. give him some slack
It wasn't just 1 post, he has several post that got him warnings. We can't just let someone slid because they are good members, how is that going to look to the new members. We're trying to keep the forum clean and appropriate for everyone and well as our sponsors.

If you look up "his" posts, you will see that the only posts he uses asterisks in is when he is replying to a thread full of racists bashing the country I- I mean, "HE" - lives in and he is getting sick of reading it all the time and maybe if the mods would control the trolling and anti american BULLSHIT once in a while I wouldn't need to use the EVIL ASTERISKS! O GOD NOT THE ASTERISKS!

Trolling is okay, Anti americanism is okay, but asterisks in one out of 400 posts = makes the site look bad.....

Whatever....

Take a poll and I will bet all my points that the OVERWHELMINGLY VAST majority of members on this forum could give 2 shits less about seeing asterisks every once in a while!

Why cater to the minority...honestly, how many adults actually get offended at asterisks? Let's be real.

We can have a thread with 90000 pages of people cussing and bashing Hughes for no reason at all for have a natural reaction to a crazy upset but as soon as I make a post telling everyone they are stupid for discussing it and cussing him out for it, I get a warning.

A thread with 2000 pages of canadians and other non-US citizens bashing America to no end, using blanket statements and offensive false stereotypes, basically every day...but I make a post telling them to stop, while using a few asterisks (meanwhile everyone else in the thread is bypassing the censors), and I get banned.

Me getting banned = makes the site look bad
Anti americanism = makes the site look bad
People who are clearly trolls = makes the site look bad

asterisks/curse words = makes the site look appealing, since the target "customers" are between 17-30 years old and how many 17-30 year olds want to join a site where they can't be themselves and talk like they normally do without worrying about getting banned.

It seems simple to me, I'm no businessman...but I think I got the right idea. If you cater to the minority, your business will fail.

And of course cussing like I did in that post makes the site look bad, but so did the entire thread, it's not like I do it in every post in every thread. I only do it in the threads that have already gone to shit way before I made my post.

I don't think I overreacted one bit. The guy I was talking to was clearly an ill-informed prejudice asshole, he had a swastika with the American flag on his avatar for christ sake! And I get banned for what I said? Just because you may have worded it different doesn't mean I overreacted, the thread was worthless anyway, why should I care if I am proper and clean?

I've been banned before, and I deserved a couple of them (mainly because of Rush/MMAfreak arguements). This one was dumb though. I don't mind being banned if it's for a good reason, or maybe if I wasn't a paid member with the 2nd most amount of rep on the site (and I don't make avatars btw).

Whoever comes to close this thread,(i'd like to know why that would be justified anyway) temporarily banned means temporarily banned, and we will be waiting for the TEMPORARY nature of the ban to expire and for WLTFU to return. I am not considering the possibility of a permanent ban, because there would be no logical explanation for it. (not to mention that it would be incredibly stupid from a business standpoint)

I was really enjoying this forum, and learning a lot that I could apply to my own training. WLTFU was extremely well informed on all fronts. BTW saying that not banning a member after repeated warnings is a double standard doesn't make much sense when you look at our member designations. (junior, contender, etc) That is a merit system, as is positive rep. Huge amounts of positive rep, longstanding membership and intelligent posts translate to high merit, which DOES nullify warnings or a naughty word (OMG the dreaded asterisks while everyone else is cussing - I might fudge my petticoats!!!).

Fortunately, we don't get in trouble for sarcasm. Uhhhhhh, let me triple-check on that one.

I think I'm unbanned now anyways. There's just some glitch, I still need to restart my computer.

It's for reporting bad posts, so you don't need one on your own name, since you'll never report your own posts.

yes please, if only because my edited post is surely the first time the words "fudge" and "petticoats" have been used in the same sentence on this forum

if that isn't pioneering, I don't know what is.
