i say get rid of the rep system all together. I've never seen it last on any forum I've been to. When people are giving rep to someone just because they can and not because the person deserves it then what purpose does it serve. The rep for rep thread is a good example. I've made threads just posting a news story and got negative rep. It doesn't matter really. If anything, the site should reward deserving members with special icons or something showing that they are great members and are helping to make this forum a better place. Down with the rep system imo.

i agree with the rep for rep thread (havent seen it myself). That should have been deleted. Repping should be beacuse you have contributed to a thread or the forum, not becuase you like to kiss each others arses to get green bars. That should have never been allowed to stay.

As for the rep system, i like it as long as its modderated to an extent. Maybe neg reps should be moderated, there cant be THAT many neg reps for the mods to deal with.....

Neg reps are just a tool for c***suckers to use when they don't have anything intelligent to say on a subject they don't agree with

Not really, some members will go off on someone for disagreeing with their personal oppinion. A personal oppinion is as valid as yours, as its you OWN oppinion. If you dont agree fine, you can state your points, but to curse someone because they think Matt Hughes is better than GSP is wrong.

Neg reps are fine, neg repping because you disagree with what someone said even though it was their oppinion and put across fairly is wrong, or because they slated your fave fighter or just cuss your a "internet hardman that can neg rep" is wrong. But for them you can PM a supermoderator or a PM and find out who did it and i guess get it taken away.

I voted to abolish the rep system,it seems to cause more trouble than its worth, and soooo many threads get hijacked discussing neg reps. It's boring!
