Hello Everyone,

We're proud to announce that the new site look and feel has been completed for MMAForum.com! Our designers and software engineers have been hard at work on this for several months. It's designed to modernize the site, make it easier to use, and to make it more attractive to new members and guests that visit .

The forum software we use, vBulletin, by default is not designed to be friendly to the eyes or to look modern. We went down to the nuts and bolts of the forum software and templates, and have done a ground up approach. There are several things you will notice now that the new design is live.

1) The site should be significantly faster.

We have applied every modern technique to speed up page load and tested with all modern browsers. We want the forum to be extremely fast and easy to use.

2) The site will work much better in mobile and tablet views

We've started applying responsive design, and have designed and tested against android and iPhone devices, Android tablets, and iPads. If you are sitting at your desk or on your couch, or just on your phone, the site will work much better than it did before, and load fast. We are still working on improving the experience even further in the months to come, but we wanted to launch this as quickly as we could.

3) The homepage is bright, crisp and clean.

We wanted the first page users saw to look beautiful, so that when a new guest arrives and is debating whether to join MMAForum.com, they see a beautiful doorway, and they walk right in.

As a forum member you can choose to use the new design (which will be placed ON by default) or you can go back to the old design. We ask that you give it a chance and see if you like it. Like anything new, it will be unfamiliar at first, but we suspect that the speed difference will make you want to use this new one. If you do decide to switch back, the link is at the bottom left of each forum page, you pull down and select the theme called "MMAForum Classic".

4) Users will be able to register with Facebook, Twitter or Google+

5) The side bar can be hidden in your user options.

Click on my profile / user cp at the top right.

- click on edit your details on the left.
- Look for Show Sidebar on Forum Pages under Additional Information.
- Click disable and save.

6) Another new great feature is the @Mention user plugin. You can tag members by simply using the @ symbol.

7) Drag and Drop image uploader

We hope you enjoy it, and if you have any questions on the design, please let us know, feedback is appreciated.

If there are any issues you see. Post them up here and we will get them worked out.

Thanks,
-Your MMAForum.com Team.

I'll post my thoughts after I've had time to use it for a bit.
10-4, we have had some tech issues so it will change and add more options and cleanup over the next 48 hours.

Example - Classic/Legacy skin is having some formatting problems and will go live once we sort them out.

Hmm, I don't like the video ads because they automatically play the audio. It can be distracting when trying to browse the forum and an ad pops up with someone talking or music playing, it interrupts whatever you are doing in the background (listening to your own music or whatever). That's the only issue I've found so far.

I'm enjoying the home page, it looks nice.

Good thinking with the UI revamp, looks more 2015 this way:thumbsup:

If i may suggest something though, you should re-arrange the order of the sub forums.

For example MMA Classifieds shouldn't be in the top 4 things you see when you visit the site, because nobody visits this site with the purpose of buying mma stuff.

Then the MMA Forum News And Announcements should be at the top of the list.

Bellow in the ring(first category) i would have In The Gym!

Third one should be a off topic category in which you guys should combine MMAF Competitions & Non Mixed Martial Arts Discussion.

The forum in my opinion would look less crowded like that, more easy on the eyes.

The ads are playing again. I am logged in (with remember me checked) and the videos play. Not only does it distract from the sound, but it also seems to be forcing my browser to scroll up in order to keep the video on screen. If it's not intentional then I assume it is a bug. It's done it like 3 times now while trying to type this out.

I'm digging the like button/notification system, very cool. The layout seems well too.

There has been a big staff switch up suddenly (hit/kry/killz/bud gone) so a lot of our set roles were throw up into the air. I will be doing the main home threads from now on, or until we find someone else to do it. Rousey vs. Correira will stay there until its bumped down far enough by putting up new events.

Just got back on here, will play with the site more see what I can come up with.

Personally, I'm not a fan. I've posted over on wrestlingforum a bit and didn't like that set up there either. That being said, I'm no "modern" enough. I've had an android phone for nearly 2 weeks at most now, so maybe I'm not as integrated into the 2015 layout of websites.

You still have the old format on offer (which I have switched back to) so I can have zero complaints.

Its like I finally had to throw away my comfy pair of 10 year old underpants and start wearing a new crisp fresh pair. Looks better. Fits better. But somehow, it doesn't feel right.

Im sure once ive shit myself a couple of times i'll forget about it and embrace the future.

PS
Im annoyed that my avy background no longer matches the page colour.

I liked the older little less bright design a bit more as I'm on this page mostly at night with no other light sources in the room. So for me it was a bit friendlier to the eyes. (I'll probably be to lazy to switch to the old design and just adapt to the new one though ;) )

What I like is that the page counter scrolls down as you scroll down. Is it maybe possible to do the same with the page header (Home - Forum - Active Topics - New Posts - Gallery - Tools). I, probably like most people, use the "New Posts" link a lot, so it would be nice to be able to hit it also when you reached the bottom of the page and didn't need to scroll up again.

I'm not quite sure whether I should credit it to my non nativeness to now have an image of your underpants in my head I didn't particularly want to have...

What's with the stars at the bottom under our avatar's that represent our rep? Seems like it looks the same for all the regular users, despite our different rep ranking.

Not a big deal, just curious if it needs to be adjusted as it seems like everyone has the exact same graphic, making it pointless.
