MMAF is causing me headaches

For some reason, frequenting this place always ends up fooking with my browser. I end up with dodgy cookies that launch nonsense when I click on the thread links sometimes.

Up to now, ive always assumed its got feck all to do with MMAF. But now im not so sure. I clean out all chromes shit and re-install and everything is back to normal. And it stays that way... until I come here. And sure enough after a few clicks I get shitty links again. Ive gone through this process MANY times and its always this site that starts it off again.

Is anybody else having any trouble?

Yep. And disconnect. And a good anti-everything thingy.

I know its a dodgy cookie. If I clear them out it stops. The thing is, its this website that plonks that dodgy cookie in my browser time and time again. If I disable cookies on MMAF I cant log-in. Grrrr.

But if nobody else is getting it, using chrome, then something mighty strange is going on. Maybe I should just stop visiting this hovel and do some work...

Hmm... I dont suppose it would be too much hassle to use a different browser for my dips into MMAF. I just gave it a twirl on both firefox and IE and no issues at all.

Still, if there is something going on with this site and chrome, it would be good to get to the bottom of it.

I use an old version of chrome on an old edition of ubuntu on my laptop (to lazy to upgrade) an this is the only site I have problems with. slow loading, double posts.... and I've given up on watching videos here. If someone posts an interesting video here I google it and watch it on any other site in the whole webnet but this one..

I´m on windows 7 with firefox, no adblock needed (i don´t use porn sites).

Everything works fine, except the slow loading, but that has been a problem of this site since i know it.

I´ve also used Chrome in the past, but i find it very heavy on the memory loading (my laptop only has 2 GB) and also never had those issues you describe.

On the work i run xubuntu with firefox and everything is cool.

I´d say you have a bug in there.
Run an virus scan from the boot using kaspersky rescue disk (you can put it on a usb pen using rufus or other methods).

Who said anything about not using porn! I just dont do it on my work laptop. Ironically, my porn PC has no issues at all! :confused02:

Its really got nothing to do with porn. Since I cleaned out my chrome cookie cache yesterday, ive been browsing around with no issues whatsoever. So, this morning I decide to visit MMAF using chrome and bang: pop-ups. Need to clean out chrome *again*.

There is definitely something going on with the cookies this website uses. Im suspecting it has much to do with me using win7 as well. But why only chrome is a mystery.

When Ive got a spare hour or so, im going to track each and every cookie this site puts up, one by one. Try to narrow it down to the exact cookie. If I can name it, maybe the mods can ask the peoples running these forums about it.

For now, im just going to have to continue using MMAF on a secure sandboxed browser. Using MMAF in incognito mode also works as that always deletes all cookies after each session: further proof that its a cookie issue.

Sooj, I know you're pulling the plumb off yourself 24/7, it's the guy above my post that hasn't never experienced the horror of "Xtra Small Teens" and "Mother and Son do shit" videos which seem to be the most popular on every website. The fks wrong with people?

Anyways, yeah bizarre. Every like button and every "view post" button has stopped working for me since this thread went up.

For me, pressing "reply" or the little arrow next to threads in the recent discussions section, nearly always does the pop-up thing.

Like I said, im gonna clear my cookie stack and watch what happens when I click on one of the above links. Hopefully I can narrow it down to the exact cookie.

Im using the latest chrome on win7.
I cant show you the dodgy ads as adblock stops them. ( thankfully )
Im not wiling to disable adblock and let the pop-ups happen fully as that'll just invite more nastiness.

Yes, ive cleared my cookies which stops the problems... until I come back to MMAF. I can happily browse the internet for hours after clearing my cookies with no issues. But coming back here, sure as eggs is eggs, kicks it all off again.

Aside from adblock and disconnect, im running no plugins.

Typically, since my last post ive had no trouble at all.:confused02:

*sigh* - computer dipshittery does my head in.

So, unless something on MMAF has changed since my last post, then its clearly not a MMAF problem.

If it starts up again, ill let you know. Sorry for the seemingly false alarm.

Heeey... didn't wanna start a new thread.

Changing my password... dicks, trying to get me to set a new.... more complicated one, dicks. Why do i need a more complicated password for this forum than i do for my paypal accounts? I do not even give a shit if someone hacks into my account here...

While you may be correct that if a person meets the criteria they should not have to change a password you are assuming that the internet is a safe place.

Many of the VB plug-ins are third party plug ins, which is the biggest issue, we are never 100% sure where information can be compromised. Also people tend to use the same password as they use for other sites, linked in, twitter both were hacked and user information shared, including passwords and email addresses.

We looked at all the factors and are doing what is the safest for the users as a whole.

I've not had any issues with this site now that I have proper ad-blockers in place, but my password somehow stopped working and had to be reset. Much to my dismay I had to watch an advertisement for Progressive Insurance as part of the password reset program.

One thing that I should be complaining about is how after the site upgrade I ended up losing my lifetime membership, and am now being prompted again to pay. Well you can fvck off if you think I'll pay twice for essentially no reward.
