Yes, A Few New Moderators

Alright MMA Forum users:

YES, there has been a few shake-ups in our Staffing.

Like kd said...just keep up on the posting, stay active and cordial, and it'll come if we see something we like.

Now, I wanna update our community...just so everyone is clear:

jdun11 was removed from the Staff, NOT because of his supposed "quitting MMA mentality," but because his Moderating statistics were SUPER LOW. At an absolute unacceptable level. Nothing personal to him, as well as moldy and Onganju (which were removed for the same reason), but there were given the positions for a reason...it's not a free ride.

So, with that being said, we needed some GREAT candidates to fill those voids. Enter the following:

- kds13
- screenamesuck
- B-Real (Graphics Showroom Mod)
- Damone

I have the utmost confidence in each one of those guys, and I know they'll only make our community here at MMA Forum stronger than before.

Now....we as a Staff are somewhat pondering maybe one more user as a Moderator right now. Nothing set in stone...we're looking, so be on your P's and Q's! You could possibly be next!

Take care gents,

T.B.

What other criteria is used to judge someone for a moderator spot then?
This isn't me knocking on WL2FU as this is one thing I actually really like about him, if an argument were to come up about something, rather than trying to cool things down, he would keep things going. He may do things differently as a mod, I do not know, you would need to talk to him about that. I think he's a champion poster though. I am a fan of his.

This isn't something that should really be discussed with the rest of the forum but right now as far as I know, there isn't a huge need for another moderator. It seems like all the gaps have been filled, forum wise, not position wise. I'm not trying to bring the attention back onto me and the others but the higher ups will make the right choices so you guys should not have to worry about who gets given the staff positions and who doesn't.

Nice choices on the new mods, I'm a little sad to see Onganju demoted though, I thought he brought a lot of intelligent posts to the table and was a very articulate guy. I can understand why though being that he isn't the most active poster(2.05 posts a day). Congrats to everyone else though, and I agree being a good poster and a good mod are different things. I think a mod is the kind of poster who rarely argues(in an aggressive manner), and rarely fights over the intrawebZ(aka Damone).

I have to say Im def one of the most active people here, sadly that isnt getting me anywhere. But true, Trey couldnt have picked more composed mods then these dudes
How do you define active? 8.80 posts per day isn't anything crazy, I bet there are at least 25-50 members that post that regularly. I average 8 posts a day and have been posting since January, and don't consider myself a top poster by any means.

Congrats again to all you guys. Definately great choices. And thank you to all you who mentioned my name...I've been wanting to be a mod for a while now. I'm on every morning after work and when I wake up in the afternoon. I don't really know what's holding me back from being a mod. I got the credentials. Member of the Month in November and Member of the Year for 2006...both won by a landslide. And my rep is one of the highest on the forum, and 90% of it is real rep, not the rep-for-rep stuff. I only did that for like a week or 2 a long time ago.

I hope it's not because I argue with people sometimes, that would be kinda dumb. I don't see what's wrong with arguing on a forum, it's kinda the point. I don't cuss people out or personally insult them. Hell I even seen one of the mods (can't remember who, thinking BP88 but I could be wrong) had a big ass arguement with someone a while ago that lasted like 5 pages and both of them were hurling insults and curses at each other the whole time (not bashing whoever, I thought it was funny). So I don't know if me liking to argue is the reason why I haven't even been offered a mod spot yet. And obviously it's not my age because I'm older than some of the current mods. Oh well, I'm not gonna lose sleep over it, just would be cool to know why.

You're definately one of the top posters. You and I hardly ever agree but you still make good posts and you don't ever just post one-liners filled with terrible grammar like a lot of other posters do. There's a lot of "top posters" on this site, though.

Active as in on alot, but its not like im just sitting around waiting for posts, Im just around the computer alot so Im pretty in tune of whats goin on most of the time.
I think the main thing holding you back would be the lack of time spent on this forum. You've only been a member for 6 months while many others have been involved w/ this forum for longer than that, some even longer than a year!

Thanks. I do agree that we don't agree always, but I don't have any ill feelings towards you or really anyone on this forum, minus a couple of the Trolls and people who bash Pride every second they can. I also agree that there are a lot of "top posters" on this site and that definitely makes it difficult to select a mod. I think you're one of the obvious choices for a mod though, and I wouldn't have been surprised if they selected you this time, and I'm sure it will happen in the future.

Yea? Well I gotta disagree with how you agree that we don't always agree.

Just playin, thanks.

Yeah, my time here and certainly my maturity are big restraints.

But I really wouldnt mind throwin in Wukka in the mix, some educational shit from this guy. Infact, I see him being the best candidate to replace Oganju's spot.

But overall Id still put Luv's name in the hat for overall mod. 6000 f'in posts and not one troll job

Judoka would also be a good nod

I was just thinking Judoka would be a good one too. Wukka would be good for the training section, he's prolly the most active member of that section.

BTW I have to spread some around plazz, sorry.

I don't think asking to be a mod is very good :D I think you'd be a great mod, as would be Chrisl, and maybe Wukka and SnakePit could be in charge of the workout section :D

I wasn't going to "ask" to be a mod until I seen a bunch of people mention my name. I'm just showing that I am interested....still.

hey trey, i guess my pm about being a mod got lost in this little e-world here so if you just wanna go ahead and resend that....that'd be grrrreat.

Thanks to everyone who threw my name out there, it's really kind. I think WL2FU should obviously become a mod before me, but I do agree that we kind of need someone in the MMA Training Section with Oganju being removed and all. I do agree all this talk about mods and what not is resulting in some inspiration/motivation for people to become better posters, which is always good. How many mods do we have altogether now? I think with the increase in members here an increase in the amount of mods is only inevitable.

Thanks guys, Both of you guys would be great to.

I am not going to ask to be a mod but if i get asked then i would probably do it.

I am in a time zone when i am always on during and after events.

WL2FU, Plazzman, Wukkadb, Anton and some others would be great to.

Congrats to everyone for the new mod spots. Everyone who got the spots definitely deserve them. I've been relying on "screenamesuck" as my main source of MMA information for awhile now. =) Also, Damone definitely was a great pick, and an obvious one at that. Great job guys.

Wow, I thought I posted in here. Thanks for the welcome guys. I will do my best to keep this place cleaned up. Seems some people are already upset about that lol ;) As for WL2FU. You were my first choice to take the last position, but that is between you and the higher ups. I think Hollywood or Chris would be good also. I'm sure if another position is filled, Trey and the gang will make the right choice.
